Fair enough. But like someone else said, the thread will prob shift as the storm moves.
Wouldn't it workboth ways? The TX peeps wouldn't have to wade thru new posts by LA peeps either? I have peeps in both states so I'll monitor both, no biggie.

I just saw the clip of the lady losing her mind at the shelter. It is on Barstool Sports page on instagram if anyone follows them. It was from CNN. That reporter didn't know what to do!
After Andrew passed in '92, a guy that I work with, whose house he had just finished building with his own hands was basically a complete loss, whose four kids were still very young at that time, who had been without power for days, whose glasses had gotten lost amidst the turmoil was cleaning up fiberglass insulation from his yard in 100 degree heat.
He was miserably hot, sweaty, half blind without his glasses, itching from being covered in fiberglass, exhausted, stressed out, furiously angry and of course, armed.
He saw a white van pull up in his driveway with lettering on the side that looked like it was for a plumber or an electrician and in his words "an old guy and two young boys got out and started walking around my yard." He walked up, pulled his pistol and told them they better get their arse back in that van and go back where they came from. His wife saw what was going on and ran over to intervene but it was too late, the van pulled out and sped off down the road.
"Do you know who that was?", she asked.
"No, and I don't give a frick either," he replied.
The white van wasn't for a plumber or an electrician, it said "CBS News" on the side. The old guy was Dan Rather and the two young boys were his producer and camera man.
His brush with fame - he met Dan Rather and then threatened to kill him.

The other forum is talking about convection firing near Sabine Pass ... so can YOU explain what that means?
He's facing some shear and the energy isn't stacked up on top of his low level location but displaced to the N and a little W with increasing height currently. This, we'll call it stretching in the atmosphere has the low level flow converging on it and convecting up.
He still seems to be tracking farther east than anticipated but with the disorganization it'll probably yield more wind in our part of the world than really increasing the rain.
That dry slot saved our behinds here.

Barker peak forecast has been reduced by the corps down to 101.7'
That is very significant. The increased release rates must have made a huge impact.
Posted on 8/29/17 at 8:57 pm to slackster
It would be very significant. Considering that the level is currently at 101.5.
I don't believe it because the source is ihome with no link.

He's right here though:

Shoulda pulled the trigger...

They had projected up to 9 inches of rain today but only 1-2 inches fell which is the reason for the drop on Barker and Addicks.
Barker is no longer releasing water into Buffalo Bayou in an uncontrolled manner and Addicks is only minimally spilling over in an uncontrolled manner.
