Homeowner's
I'm no insurance professional, nor do I understand legislative language - but a buddy of mine sent me a link to a bill going into effect September 1 that seems to be written in favor of the insurance companies. Texas Hailstorm Bill. It seems the bill's intentions are to limit frivolous insurance claims - however some say it gives the Insurance Companies more leverage in screwing over homeowners.
Again just passing on information I haven't read the bill just an overview of it and articles that are written in an opposing view.
The article below has more information.

About 5 in the house when they left. Water was still rising.
I-10 is open
99 is closed in both directions north of I-10
Beltway north of 10 was open..
Costco at 99 and 10 is open. Did not see lines but parking lot was full.
Sams north of 10 near Fry is open. Very long lines could be seen.
HEB at Fry and 99 open. Lines unknown
Target in Cinco Ranch is open. No lines but reported that there are very few groceries.
Kroger at Bay Hill and 99 open. Parking lot full lines unknown.
Stay away from Cinco high and Jr high. Traffic is a standstill. They are no longer accepting donations or evacuees.
Buffalo bayou at Cinco blvd is now about 5-6 feet below the bridge.

Definitely sounds like a silver lining. I, however, have not had to deal with Homeowner's. With as many claims that they will be taking, does that impact their performance and payout times?
When we bought our house in BR in 1995, we were talking with neighbors about Hurricane Andrew for some reason and how their neighborhood was. Several told us that adjusters just walked down the street and pretty much wrote checks on the spot. IDK if it would work that way today.

Sorry to post here but no one helped in the other thread. My friend is trying to leave Richmond and head to Austin, her cell service is sucking so she's asking me to ask y'all to help her properly route based on closures. Here's her beginning address:
This is her address:
1302 S. Haven
Richmond, TX
She's headed to Austin. Says she's on 59S heading to 10.

Absolutely not. We have the shite show now to try and curb fraud. In reality, the homeowners get bent over now.

I'm not insurance savvy .. but if it goes into effect September 1, at least this was August??? Why do they screw people over?
ALL of our policies OTHER THAN HEALTH INSURANCE are right at $16,000 per year. Vehicles, homeowner, wind/hail, flood, business liability, produce, tractors. WITH health insurance add another $970x12. SUCKS.

The Euro absolutely nailed an 8-day Harvey forecast from a track standpoint. Let's hope it either changes track for this next system or is somehow much less accurate if it keeps it toward TX/LA.
The link below is from a week ago. Advance it one day at a time and the accuracy is almost unbelievable for such an unusual track.
