Finishing up an engineering degree (and have taken my sweet arse time getting it too). Honestly should have studied to be a meteorologist though. I would mainline the Weather Channel at five (shoutout to the late John Hope here) and track hurricanes on those old paper tracking charts. Eh, at least my degree path gives me the background to pursue that later if I wish.

Same reason any manager should make an appearance during problems. Their people can handle it, but it gives the appearance of understanding.

I hope you're right man. I think traditionally we start seeing fronts move through around the highest peak in hurricane season correct? Usually around mid-September so that seems about right.

Once the cold front train starts, our risk starts to drop off. There's generally something coming to sweep a storm off to the east, really limiting the window of impact.
That little disturbed system Steve C and rds showed has been popping up for a few days in the models but always pretty damn weak. Just, sigh, raises rain chances over an area that doesn't need any more of it.

The detail the 16 shows has to be incredibly useful for forecasters and enlightening to those studying the systems. Amazing tool.
