Every new report shows this thing impacting us more and more. The last video I just watched on weather channel ( harvey's impact to new orleans I believe) talks about the timing-- It shows a screen that flashes 15-20 over BR/Nola and then it switches to "inches"-- 6-7. Another video about NOLA and rain the weather person goes on to admit it's hard to determine rain amounts ahead of time-- and admits that August 2016 only forecast 10-12 for BR. I am afraid that with this sitting in gulf for nearly 48+ hours that it will possibly intensify and if nothing else soak the frick
out of our state. Something none of us need. Our drainage systems do not work.

I know there are still waters out, but where the hell is it bad enough that they flipped the boat and can't get to a safe place?

The prognosis for LA hasn't changed much for the last 48-72 hours. The HRRR, which has done a spectacular job with the runs last night, is showing the following set up over the next 18 hours:
Peak rains of 8" over the lake, but generally 3-6" over the next 18 hours for New Orleans. Much lower totals across the rest of the state.

Won't be due to this storm, but could be other weather patterns... They just said the low that is up over the great lakes is going to pull this thing NE. Like I said a second ago, they had it into Arkansas on Thursday.

Running boats at night in residential areas will leave you prone to accidents that wouldn't normally happen.

ETA: The reservoir is 12 feet over Highway 6, for instance.
