re: Tamiflu- safe or not?

Tamiflu is star anise with a bunch of chemicals thrown in. So nasty side effects. A box of Tazo Chai tea has star anise in it, tastes great, and is less than five dollars. WIN.

re: The New Remote Modern Workplace

I have the ability to work from home and am far more productive when I do. I do not have an office door, and am constantly interrupted- which definitely impacts my performance and work load. I wish like heck my company would let me be home all the time. They can monitor me, so they know I am working. Just so you know I am considered old at 51, and I have no issues with remote work. In fact, I embrace it.
Back to heavy sleet in Shenandoah. I've never seen snow/sleet/snow/sleet. It literally can not make up it's mind. Crazy.
Mostly sleet here in Shenandoah. A bit of snow for about 20 minutes, now it's a mix-- mostly ice. I lived in the Dakotas for years, never seen it sleet with temps this low. Almost always snow. Crazy.

edited to add ( 8:45) snowing pretty hard and windy finally. It seems like all the snow that everyone else got is finally here.
I owned a Kia Borrego SUV for five years. It was reliable and tough. My hub lost his job, and now has to commute to Lafayette. So we had to downsize to a Toyota. I miss that Car,really do. It would have been great to have during the flood.

It's a perfect name for the subdivision...
I am in Shenandoah, and it has been raining fairly hard for about thirty minutes or so.
Just saw update on CNN from NHC, 11 am advisory will be a Cat 2 coming on shore at Plaquemines Parish LA in same place as Katrina.

I have MS, been sick since 3 this morning. I knew it was going to be bad when I started feeling this sick. Sending hub out for snacks and supplies. Got clearance to work from home on Monday. Crap. I moved back three years ago, and other than flood have been good. Oh well. Cant link ( i am a newbie, not sure how) but you can find it easily enough on google.
Alzheimer's is generally diagnosed by doing cognitive testing, and a PET scan A simple series of questions can determine fairly accurately how far along decline wise someone is. If they are early onset, or suffering mild cognitive impairment-- ( first stage) they may seem fairly competent and do well on the testing because they still have coping mechanisms built in.
I did not design home.. but yes, maybe I will just pick up and move away. Starting to paint this weekend.
It's not a shed, it's a "utility room" under the carport...
I Live in 70817, in what will hopefully be St George one day.
I sent out a resume for a job recently and instead of calling me they sent me a text and an email.-- to try to schedule an interview. No phone call. I declined to meet with them. I figure if they can not take a minute to to speak with me, I don't need to speak to them.

have you officially been diagnosed with MS

No, she has not.

what has your primary doctor treated you with

Yes, Yes, I am interested in this too!
I have MS, and you are generally treated by a Neurologist, not a rheumatologist.
Ah that would be awesome if the cajun navy would go to PR...
To be honest, I am a poor kid who grew up in a "mobile home" subdivision with a single Mom.

I was in what is now called AP classes, and had straight A's. My mother had a GED because she had me at 17. She taught me that if I applied myself I could do anything.

Yes, my situation at home was lousy, I was dirt poor and ridiculed for being a certain type of "trash" more often than I'd like to admit. That situation taught me to be and do better.

It's shameful that these families/kids you guys mention do not care enough to prove everyone wrong.

Eventually, I would prefer to do this full time.
I am currently doing sales/customer service, but not getting paid commission. The majority of outside sales here is oil field related or requires a degree.
My hub lost his job after 23 years with the same company two years ago. We decided to move home to be close to family and took a transfer back to the BR office. A year after we moved, they closed office. He was able to find a job quickly, but it pays 20 grand less ( he kept his salary from Texas at old company) and he has to drive to Lafayette.

He recently went to a job interview here in BR for a job that he was very qualified for. The pay was better than the job in Lafayette. He went on three job interviews, had a great interview with COO, was given information about cost of benefits etc at close of interview and was told they'd contact him within a weeks time.

They never did.

The job market here is awful-- and the pay is terrible. If he he gets laid off again, we are leaving.

I have purchased three homes in my lifetime. The first one the agent was old school and worked her butt off. The second and third, not so much. I did all the leg work and they opened the houses and did the contract. I am a hunter in a sales sense.

I however, think the economy here is poor and the inventory is tight post flood. This makes for a higher cost of inventory. In a financially repressed economy, this makes for a tough sell. When you add in the Equifax fiasco,it may be challenging. This is the only concern I have. I'd be great-- I have no doubts about my ability to close a deal.

Anyone sell real estate in BR

Considering selling real estate, part time to start. I've been in sales and understand it means long hours, and that's okay. I did outside sales for years and looking to supplement my income, and then go full time if successful.

Anyone have any experience working this market? It really seems hit or miss. ( but gaining strength post flood)

Thanks!
The eighty below was with wind chill.

Not unkind or anything else that you allude to, it's really not nice there from October - May, but go ahead move there. If you want to do a service job and freeze your butt off it's heaven.
I lived there for three years. This time of year is great. Then winter starts. Nine hellish months of snow on the ground, and up to your windowsills on the house. Temps of up to 80 below at times, white out conditions. When it finally warms up to 45 in April you will put on shorts to celebrate only to have a blizzard come through the first of May.

Don't do it. The people are only nice because they know you are not from there. No one goes out of their home except for work for nine months out of the year. I lived in Rapid City, SD. We moved there for a job. In September of our third year, I told the hub I would divorce him he did not transfer back to BR
Not here for any of these, in Texas during them all.. but after last years flood, we were without power for seven days in Shenandoah. Our Demco station is in Central.
