Been searching for updates information and forecast since about 4:30am this morning because I was starting to assume this was the case. Just watching the radar throighout the night it seems to be making more of an early push towards Louisiana than the forecasts were projecting.

N.O. Isn't out of the woods yet. The storm is dropping southeast back into the gulf now and is shifting east as we speak. Once it's in the gulf all bets are off

Yeah I was a little surprised by their attitude on the news. Said they expected rain but the heavy stuff would stay closer to Lafayette

Depends on two things:
1) Will Harvey make it far enough out to reach the warmer waters needed?
2) Will Harvey still have a strong enough structure to take advantage of it.

Parts of Liberty County forecast for 25 more inches over the next 60 hours. 6z NAM - through 60 hours:
***That bronze spot east of Lake Pontchartrain is 19.35" over the next 60 hours.
Take away should be that most of south and central LA could see significant rainfall totals over the next 60 hours as the bands continue to come onshore. Biggest concern would be in SWLA, but if bands line up over other parts of the state, big time rain totals are possible.
Just continue your local radar for potential training bands.
