I put up $50 and would rather be scammed out of a few bucks than withhold a little help from someone who might truly need it.

IDGAF about his drug history or anything he may have done. He’s a human who needs help.

FWIW I don’t think it’s a scam. Would be a hell of a long con if it was. Maybe I’m a naive idiot but it seems legit. I don’t regret my contribution.

I donated $25 and have no regrets. We all answer to the same God and when he allows us the opportunity to give, we should every chance we get. What one does with the donations is between them and God.

I promise. shite started to give me panic attacks. I'll smoke some CBD stuff every now and then, but I'm done. 25 year old me would have laughed and kicked my arse for ever suggesting that it could happen.

I’m 38 and very healthy. I’ve also expressed to my loved ones that I do not want to be cremated either. Everyone knows they’re going to die, some prepare for the future much further in advance than others.

For some of us it is a lifelong concern or fear after losing a parent at the age of, say, 12 years old that simply never goes away.

So sorry for your loss. I’m glad the Gofundme is going well. Hopefully you have comfort in some kind of way soon. I can’t even imagine the pain.

Some off you have way too much time on your hands. You are the little old lady in the neighborhood who has an empty life so spends all day gossiping about her neighbors.

OP is going through his own personal hell, swallowed his pride and came to the OT, out of desperation, for help. Either choose to take him at his word or dont. Either help him with a few bucks or dont.

Regardless of your choice, it is not ok to turn into amateur detectives and pour over his social media, arrest record and post history. It was undoubtedly very hard for OP to swallow his pride and ask for help from strangers, but some of you think its okay to further humiliate him.

Questioning his motives or whining because he hasnt returned to give thanks blows my mind. If he is aware of what some of you are posting I would be shocked if he ever came back. His wife just died. Let the poor guy grieve.

Whoever researched and posted his arrest record is a sanctimonious piece of shite. Who the hell gave you the right to shine a microscope on this guys life? From what others have posted OP has been very open about his struggles. Clearly he views TigerDroppings as a place where he can open up without judgement. Well as if his life isnt bad enough you have taken away his outlet for escape because you put him on blast by posting his arrest record. Way to go!!!! Now get a life!!!!

Unfortunately it happens. I was a member of 2 CFB boards where I saw it happen. A guy in Michigan took the identity of a an Alma State football player who was a Michigan fan. He also created another identity as a Washington Husky fan. He built up both online identities over several years and made it seem like the 2 became online friends. He took to the point that the two had met up IRL at a Michigan vs Washington football game. He later had the Washington persona deployed to Iraq and injured by an IED. Both boards sent money and a charity run by another board member made a big donation. The charity eventually became suspicious and tied the Michigan and Washington personas together. The police were notified and showed up at Alma University, took the real Alma State student and football player out of class and in for questioning. They cleared him and were able to track down the real person through some YouTube videos. The guy was a real life live in your mom’s basement wack job. Even after being exposed he tried to make other online IDs to vouch for the other fake online IDs. It was really bizarre.

These guys will sit here and cry about cancel culture all day but the second they get a chance to cancel something they’re first in line. Pretty disgusting. What does his drug history matter? He still lost his wife and his kids lost a mother.
