One of my best friends in Tulsa and I were fishing from the bank along the slow moving river due east of the city (just drive east on 71st till you get there). Buddy steps into the brush to try where a small stream feeds into the river, has a steep slope there. Slips and ends up in the water up to his waist.
Next day he tells me he has to go back and go swimming again. His wedding band had come off in either the fall or the water. He spent 3 days there searching.
Didn’t help. He started hanging out with another married guy in an open marriage, got a gf and got her pregnant before getting divorced. Moved to another city and married gf. Last visit he had also gotten hooked on meth and was known to use it with the employees he managed. Some people just have to make poor decisions.

When I’m showering.
When I’m on a construction site.

This.
I don't do any weight lifting with a ring though.
I'm terrified of unsheathing my finger.

I have a silicone ring for gym and beach/swimming.
Only take off actual ring to shower.

I take it off to lift and BJJ. Other than that, it stays on.

When golfing and fishing. It’s been in my golf bag for a couple months now. Wife doesn’t notice

Never wore one. When we got married I was a working electrician....bad idea to have a gold band around your finger when doing electrical work. I also built a bunch of commercial cabinets and casework on the side and still do a lot of wood working. Bad idea to have a ring on while running a table saw or any kind of power tool for that matter. I never wore it for the simple fact that I would lose it removing it to work and would forget to do so and its not safe. My wife has never had an issue with it when I explained why and she noticed most of the married men I knew did not wear one for similar reasons. I have never given here reason., in 37 years, to suspect I was cheating so there is also that. She seldom leaves the house without hers and her engagement ring. She does take them off pretty often to shower etc.

The range between my fingers being swollen vs being normal is pretty large (to the point where my ring is pretty loose vs can't be moved). Because of this, I take it off (when possible) if I am getting my hands wet (from just washing them to swimming to showering). I've been doing it so long that it's a habit to keep up with my ring when it's not on.

About every 4-5 months when I swap out silicone rings. Haven’t worn my actual wedding ring in 15 or so years.

When we got married 26 years ago I was rail thin - 130 lbs. I’d had some medical issues and couldn’t put on any weight. Now I weigh 180. My ring was cutting into my finger so quit wearing it. I finally got it off with the intent of getting another one, but never have gotten around to it. She doesn’t care. She knows I’m not going anywhere.

I never have worn jewelry of any kind, so I only wear it when the wife and I go somewhere together.

No but I don’t wear my original ring. A few years ago we attended a jewelry making workshop and he made me a silver ring set. I wear that now.

50+ years. Never take it off.

I haven’t worn mine since Covid. The original is too small and it got a little beat up from falling down the disposal.
Before that I’d wear it to work and then it came off. I’ve never been into rings or chains
