One of the most dangerous animals in the world. Took care of two pigmys when I was a zookeeper eons ago. Never, ever turned your back to them and never worked alone. Horrible way to die, but I cannot fathom not being aware of the danger.

It's true that baseball is not the national pastime. Transferal of blame is the national pastime.

Mosquito

Edit: Apparently the white-tailed deer is considered the most dangerous animal in US. Mosquito is considered the most dangerous in the world.

Seems like if they could prove they did this...

It further claimed that they were 'negligently encouraged... to approach the water and stand on the bank' to see and photograph the hippo.

They would have a case. That's legit putting your guests in harms way.

I've been on safari twice, once in South Africa and once in east Africa. On both trips, I witnessed male hippos warring. They are terrifying at close quarters: their preternatural speed in the water, their sheer mass, their bellowing, their teritorial ferocity, their massive incisors. Thousands of people are killed annually each year in Africa by hippos when they venture into rivers for bathing, laundering, swimming, or collecting drinking water. Even lions fear hippos when they cross rivers.

I've got to tell you, I like the chances for that mouthy male nurse that posted here who wants to sue his on-again, off-again temporary employer and his female supervisor that he couldn't get along with better than this widower in their lawsuits.
