My wife was 40 when she had our last child

Apparently you're unaware of technology and adoption.
Apparently, YOU are unaware of technology and what adoption is actually like.
Y’all need to actually look this stuff up.

would you rather take a chance with her or some 40 yr old with multiple kids? I don’t have a problem with either at my age but don’t see all the vitriol for this woman that dared to check “maybe someday” in the drop down menu.
I'm actually curious to hear the responses to this.

Why doesn’t this old baw mind his own bidness?

They’re hoping that some 40 year old old lady will see their post and reward them with sex

My wife and I had our first (and only) when she was 42 and I was 41. It's tough, but not impossible.

Why are we making fun of a woman who hasn’t found the right guy yet to start a family? If I was single and a liberal I’d jump all over that.
I dunno dude. She doesn’t look like a woman that would need two whole decades to find a good man.
i said this earlier. i read the entire twitter thread of a couple of dozen women. it's filled with 6-8.5 women (one 4 outlier in there) that could have settled for a stable 5-7s earlier in the life but wanted a career and to bang 8-10s.
i don't blame them entirely like i don't blame incels entirely. we let people with no stakes in our personal lives dictate what we thought was the right thing to do for the latter part of the 20th century and the chickens are coming home to roost.

Yep. People for some reason assume it's very easy to adopt babies, it's not. It's really, really hard to adopt anyone, and foster care kids they are available will probably not be the ones older first time parents would do well with.

Oh man...where to start...
The divorce reform one cracks me up a bit given we had a thread the other day where half the OT was telling a poster he needs a divorce because his wife made a smart arse remark towards him while putting together furniture.

The friend I know who did it waited years, paid significant money, and then randomly received a phone call in the middle of the night stating that they had to come immediately a state away to pick up the child.
All spontaneous with no warning or expectation that they would even be able to adopt.
It’s not an easy process.
Hell, abortion has severely limited the number of adoptions available.

I don't think he should have divorced his wife, but come the hell on downplaying what she said as a smart arse remark.
Personally I think we are at a precipice of men being engaged in the dating game. Currently, the laws, courts, and financials are stacked against men when it comes to marriage. I am happy to get engaged and married this year to the woman I love, but I can see why men are frustrated.

It's pretty easy to go to Asia and adopt a child, dumb arse.

I’m not. She sounded shitty. But that further reinforces my point that divorce reform would require people to actually make better choices when choosing a spouse. And given some of the divorce threads we’ve seen here, there’s definitely a fair group of men who struggle with that.
It’s a bit of the grass isn’t always greener on the other side type of deal.

Alimony is capped and length is shortened if not completely gotten rid of. Child support money should be put on a debit card that can only be used for things like food and childcare, kid's clothes, and medicine.
This is an anti-family idea. If you make it easier for men to abandon their wives, more men will do it.

Completely agree on this. The amount of people I know that got married and said they are happy it was when they were younger in case it didn't work out was kind of astounding.

Imagine arguing the cash being audited and confirmed to actually go to the kid is an anti-family idea.

I know someone who has adopted several kids. It's massively expensive and a total pain in the arse. It takes a lot of want to do it.

I think half of our issues in relationships would be solved if we had more franks conversations before committing about our morals, beliefs, etc.
Don’t want kids? Say so. And if someone says they do or don’t, don’t act like you can change it.

just like limiting abortion should require people to actually make better choices when choosing a f-buddy.
it's for the better but society doesn't want to deal with the repercussions of making smart choices that have real ramifications.
