Cowboys to Japan are like Samurais to us.

A fellow from Japan played the accordion at the Acadian Festival.
He was all about Cajun music. His job back in Japan? A crawfish farmer!

A guy I knew in high school and I caught up with him I like maybe 10 years ago told me about a time that he got a gig to sing country music in the Philippines with some bar in Manila which was like a huge country and western bar ,, supposed to be a thing,, no idea whether he was telling the truth because of his issues,,, he was living on some polygamist cul de sac in Katy at the time so who the frick knows

he had a drug problem once got over to Manila got into some drugs and never showed up for the gig didn't have the money to get back over was stuck in the Philippines for like a year and a half

guy could actually sing

drugs are bad

My sister lives in Manila. Went visit a few years back and it was a tough place to leave. I would have enjoyed being stuck for a few months

My nephew was deployed over there during the 2011 football season. He got a huge honeybadger tattoo at Subic Bay. He's still in the Navy, and he still gets a new tattoo from wherever he gets deployed.

Most of the world loves Western culture of the US because the old popcorn westerns were the only things on TV when they were a kid

Not to mention the terrain looks nothing like what they have

Went to the Hobbit House bar in Manilla in the 1996 period. Famous bar that was entirely staffed by midgets. 6 ft 6 inch ceilings. Covid killed it
