You should have heard the story for this:
Curb rash is a given for kids. Just accept that every wheel is going to look raggedy in a month.
Another reason not to buy a teenager a brand new car.

I had to buy my stepdaughter 3 new tires within 6 months.

I had a pretty good idea that’s what it was. I’ve seen something very similar looking in an old hunting club truck.
Accidents happen, and that why we keep the gun barrel pointed down.

I didn’t see it…now I can’t unsee it.
Lucky to have clipped that, and not just jammed a clean hole.

If you boy is a hunter, just make sure he really remembers gun safety.
If he doesn’t have a reason to be around guns, then I’d be a bit more concerned

Now this is your 2nd thread in a few weeks about minor dents and dings in a high school kid's car.
This is the reason mine is driving a 12 yr old Accord

Knock on wood but I've never curbed a wheel. Though all of my vehicles have been SUVs/Trucks except 1.
My wife on the other hand thinks hitting curbs is a sport. I replaced the right front tire on her car 3x in 20k miles.

I’m with you. Exactly what it looks like. Pellet gun or rim fired 22.
Yep and it definitely came from inside the car on the drivers side at a downward angle. There’s a reason he’s not telling you anything.

In a rental Audi saloon at night in Wales.
Fortunately, the car was almost new so buying a replacement blended in easily.
Put the spare on in the rain and bought a new tyre in Stratford-upon-Avon the next day.

5 pages and nobody's asked the make/model yet? How else is he supposed to brag about it? The man shouldn't have to bring it up on his own.

That's a bullet. Did your kid tell you about it or did you find it? I will say there is a 50% chance he knows what happened

Her car was an Audi A5. She's back in an SUV now

I think you can rule out bullets. If that was a bullet, there would be a hole on he outside of the car door, too.
Is that little threshold piece with the hole rubber or plastic? Is that hole part of the damage? If so, it's mighty clean.

Bottom line: He's almost certainly lying about not knowing what happened. I'd confront him, explaining that shite happens, and you understand that shite happens, but why lie about?

It's the inside of the bottom of the door. That cracked piece is what makes me believe he slammed something in it on accident, got scared and played dumb with Dad.
