Not sure but I would think 2010 would be attainable. Total guess based on cars having code reader port for decades now….

Couldn't be me... it would take everything in me not to shoot these people... no way I wouldn't feel my life in danger

Yeah, I guess all they'd need would be sensors around the car to detect an impact to identify what data point to look at.

I found out recently that insurance investigators can find out exactly what happened from the car’s data recorder. They plug in under the dash where a code reader goes. They can tell what direction car was going, what gear, if brake or accelerator is pushed, which way steering wheel was turned, etc etc…

Cars have a black box that gives incredibly detailed data, like how much pressure you had on the brake pedal prior to a collision.

I wonder how far back this sort of tech goes?

If she's driving a 2010 can it give out that sort of info?

I can tell you the "black box" existed in 2010.

Now I'm not sure if you can get the same data from a code reader plugged in like any other code reader today, but back then you had to have an expert take out the black box and download the data to issue the report.

As others have said. I would spend th $50-$100 to get a basic dash cam as it happens more than you think.

Arrest every single one of those frickers and send em to jail for 50 years.
Also, get a dashcam - i've been in 3 wrecks in the last two years and none of them were my fault. All 3 wrecks I was able to prove I did nothing wrong with the camera footage. Two in the semi, one in the personal vehicle. Every single time the other driver claimed innocence and lied to the cops. Garmin saved my arse in two spots - this past summer it saved my arse and got another trucker in an assload of trouble in Georgia.

I mean besides these people, personal injury mostly do good work. Especially when Insurance wants to get Jewish about payouts.

Anyone have a dash cam they recommend? And did you get a rear facing one too?

I have a garmin 47 and slapped a 512gb memory card in it - records up to 72 hours constantly when powered on.

This depends. Usually the vehicle has to sustain an impact at a certain speed (5+mph) in order to record an “event”. Alot of low impacts do not register. Usually if you don’t have airbag deployment there won’t be any data.

Saw this yesterday. It looks fake as hell but if it real then I hope they’re arrested since it’s all caught on camera.

It looks stupid as hell, but not fake.
