If taxpayers are paying for it, then all taxpayers should be welcome. This event shouldn't be allowed.

Thanks Greg….for solving a small symptom of the major problem you created.

This is his official campaign X handle:

The Muslim group rented out the entire park for a private event, just like anyone can. Some rando reported they could still attempt to buy public tickets during the event, but I'm sure that's just an oversight.

It kind of gets into an interesting grey area. If you rented it out for your kid's private birthday party would all other taxpayers be welcomed?

Thought exercise - is offering discounts to groups based on the group they identify with unconstitutional?

I would pay money to see somebody drop off a couple busloads of inner city youths at the event with minimal supervision by the Real Housewives of DFW and see what happens...
Hollywood could not write a script for that

If they wanted to do this stupid thing, they should have declared it to be a "Burqa day", where you have to wear burqa in order to get into the park. In practice, it would have accomplished the goal of a Muslim only day. But it might have managed to get around the discrimination laws because it technically would have allowed a Christian who was willing to wear Burqa to go to the park on that day.

Treating the symptom, not the disease Companies in your state are importing people by the thousand from across the globe, Greg.
But isn’t that sort of policy run by the federal government. Immigration, h1b visas, and such?
I will say Ken Paxton is looking into the h1b visa fraud, albeit that it took a reporter showing examples for him to get motivated.

Can just imagine the oil slick that event would have left behind.

They have a public website offering to rent to anyone. I wonder if they’ve rented to any Christian churches in the past and if Abbott only has a problem if they rent to Muslims? LINK

Is this a thought exercise? It depends on the group.

Are you dense? The issue isn’t that it’s rented to Muslims, it’s that Muslims rented it and put out ads saying that the event was open to the public…as long as you are Muslim.

Yeah. They should have just footed the bill and passed out tickets to people who attend their mosque.

ahh, a glimpse at our probable future...
I'm okay with this if someone has rented it out as a private event and wants to have only who they want. Otherwise no.
