Update....
Have a phone conference with companies in Nashville and Birmingham over the next week.
Not sure the better half will be down with either. She's stuck on Dallas. I'm not.

Dallas is great but Frisco and McKinney are growing so fast the infrastructure can't keep up.
White Rock/Lakewood is the best area of DFW if you can afford housing and private school.

Probably the only area I'd consider is Rockwall. Don't want to get any closer to the city. Not my pace.

The city of Birmingham is a dump. It's one of the top 10 most dangerous cities in the US. There are some very nice suburbs though. You'd have to look in Mountain Brook, Vestavia Hills or Hoover

I live right outside of BHM. Very liveable city. Good luck w the interviews.

Have some good friends that live here and really like it.
The best opportunity seems like it's in Nashville though.

I have been in Frisco for 20 years and have very few complaints.

If we relocate it will likely be to Tennessee or North Carolina. I'd like a few more seasons and a little more scenic terrain. My kids are going into the 5th grade so it's hard to uproot everyone but I will for the right opportunity.

Ferriday, Louisiana is a nice little town.

You don't find the douchebag count is abnormally high in DFW?

I recently relocated to the Sacramento area and we love it. Awesome schools, nice people, lots of nature and centrally located between Tahoe and the city.

My advice: go where there is a demand for what you do for a living. Job security is nice when raising a family.
Smartest advice ever.

Sounds like you weren't ready for an elite community like Boulder. Good luck in one of those shite-tastic choices you end up in

Green hills in Nashville. Mt. Brook or Homewood in Bham.
