Came here to say this. Parking the car takes longer than checking out. Scan & Go and the cart scanners makes it really easy.
Wife (no pics) likes the Asian products at Costco though and their wine selection is better imo.

I make it up through Sam's Cash and the savings on paper towels and toilet paper but would like if they brought back the Member's Mark cat litter and massive bags of chopped romaine. The $5 rotisserie chicken is also superior to the grocery chains.

Yes but there are a few things Sam’s has/does better. I like scan and go.
Sam’s has a more limited selection. But there are some things they don’t rotate out the way Costco does (eg stevia chocolate chips).
Sam’s “uncured” deli meat and sliced cheese selection is better.
And it’s much less of a gong show at the the Sam’s we go to (and a pleasant country drive away from us) versus the Greenville Costco. That place is a total circus from the drive to the parking lot to the way too cramped store with too many people blocking the aisles to get samples.
The BR one is a way better experience.
ETA: yes, subtle , I am a member of Sam’s AND Costco, brag.

I'll stick with Sam's because of scan and go. Single handidly makes Sam's the better option.

Not much one can do about costs because one follows the other regarding fees or they get together and set them months beforehand.

Agree 1000%. Although Kirkland brand is better than members mark in my opinion. But as far as Costco having scan and go not in my area. I asked one of the managers and they said they did a test in some markets but found the shrink (people taking items without paying) were substantial enough to not move forward and expand the program nation wide.

Completely disagree. I do mobile scan and pay at Sam’s and I’m in and out in 15 minutes. It takes you that long to find a parking spot at Costco.
I buy pool supplies there and Sam’s is significantly cheaper for the same thing product in pool chemicals
