This sounds like the fuse. My family is pretty close but if my mom, wife, and sister in law did this, I'm sure it would turn into some tremendous issue.

Dude, I honestly have no idea what you’re saying

Grandparents are supposed to be a little overbearing. Tell them get over it, be happy she wants to be involved with the grandkids. My kids have two sets that more or less have little to no involvement whatsoever.

Didn’t think I’d see you post ever again

Also, this strikes me as odd. If your sister in law still allows your mother to be a babysitter, there's something else going on. Is your sister in law like 18 or 19? Because this sounds like some petty, childish bullshite on both sides.

Told them both she doesn’t have a clue what was wrong or what she did but she was sorry. I told her don’t ever do that again. Told her when they need a baby sitter tell them no. They just using her because they know she wants to see her grandkids and will eat shite to be able to see them. I told her that is abuse.
This is the worst advice you can give. Trust me. One thing a grandparent doesn't want, is to not see their grandkids. They'll do anything just to spend any amount of time with them. If that means getting used as a babysitter. I'll tell my story in another post..... I've seen shite like this blow up into shite storms first hand. Best thing his brother can do, is make sure his mom has access to and has a healthy relationship with him, and the grandkids. The wife fight is a lost battle and is likely to never resolve itself.

so my wife decided to drive also so she could leave a day earlier than everyone else would. She blew up! Then from there she started hollering at my mom and it got worst over the year. They don’t come for easter, Christmas, thanksgiving or any holidays. No birthdays. She now won’t talk to my wife
Sounds like your Mom has some issues if she has problems with both your wife and your brother's wife, as well as your sister. Or you are just one big trashy family.

Thanks guys. It’s been going on for 10 years now. My mom has done everything for everyone in our family. She is the type of person that will make sure yo are taken care of before she even thinks about herself. She was a teacher for 30 years and taught my sister in law when she was young. Type of person that will give you her shirt off her back.

My mom doesn’t have an issue with my wife!!

My sister is also a teacher and at one point she was not talking to her either. She then found out that people were talking and wondering why she wasn’t talking to my sister so she then decided to talk to her because she doesn’t like people talking bout her.
Sounds like a family of psychos.
Once again, there are 2 types of people in the world. Those that build you up, those that tear you down.
If a person allows/chooses to associate with those who tear them down, don't bitch about being torn to shreds! Instead disassociate from the tearing down and only be edified. The only melodrama one has in life is due to allowing it in.

If the son or daughter decided that it was in their family's best interest to not associate with either one of his or her parents that is ok in my book - they would know what is right and wrong and the mental stability of their own parent. Sometimes a difficult decision must be made, albeit in several cases I am aware of the right choice.

You OP has a responsibility to his mother to sit with his brother and let him know what he needs to do.

it’s like his wife doesn’t want to be a part of our family at all. I could easily live without her
You don't say. Is it possible everyone in the family thinks this way and she fricking knows it? Perhaps she doesn't feel the need to invest time in people "who could easily live without her".
Sometimes too mother in law's only want to see the grandchildren and the parents know that and it can be hurtful and cause problems. Basically it's just give me the grandkids and y'all leave cause I have nothing to do and it makes me happy type situation.
Not saying that's the case but it should be explored. Especially the part where it's become toxic as the spouse knows no one like her. Can't imagine this happened overnight.
