Bottom line is the bottom line...if there is money to be made, restaurants will show up...a lot of the healthier food option restaurants target people with money who can afford those decisions...I bet there aren’t any healthy option food chains in poor white or Hispanic neighborhoods either.

This is really blowing up in Popeyes face, exposing them for their shitty customer service over the past 40 years.
Not to mention the type of employees they hire
wow, maybe your popeyes just has a shitty owner or shitty manager. the one closest to me is always on point

Every time an article like that is published, Trump picks up more voters.

It doesn’t make any sense—they’re completely absolving an entire community of personal choice and pointing the finger at the big bad corporations. Don’t wanna be fat? Research how to diet and exercise.
Really weird how so many athletes come from these communities only having access to Popeyes, isn’t it?

I see we’ve morphed from “food deserts.”
I guess they found a water source to use.

Imagine having this kind of thought process consume your life like they do.

I clicked on the article last night. I almost made it to the end of the first paragraph before I puked in my mouth a little bit. Did not finish

First thing I noticed. The Food Desert thing, even though I think it is bullshite, at least makes sense for what they are trying to say. Food Swamp doesn’t work. There is tons of food in a swamp. Hell, we just had that thread on the OT not too long ago.
I legit think this author tried to use a term he doesn’t even know and no one in the editorial process said anything. I think he meant Food Desert.

Conde Nast has destroyed GQ - its now agitprop used to help brainwash straight educated young white men

it is not some uncontrollable craze for shoes, or jackets, or chicken that precipitates black violence, but rather broader structural desperation created by racism and segregation which animate crimes.

This article is silly. I live in the third wealthiest zip code in my state and there's a Popeyes within walking distance of my house.

Black people and White liberals always try to act like White people are throwing rusty beer cans at them.
Posted on 11/9/19 at 8:55 am to stout
There's a paragraph in that article that blames the guy who killed someone over a sandwich on systemic racism.
I mean, it's obvious at this point they're just trolling white people to see what kind of reaction they can get.

Well if the community didn't rob stores blind maybe they'd have something other than shite options?

I live in a gated community and there is a Popeye's a quarter mile from my house.
Writer is an idiot. Popeye's has locations all over, in may different areas. White people aren't taking jungle expeditions into the hood to get a chicken sandwich. They are going to the Popeye's near their house or work.

The author is full of shite, and did not do his DD before writing it, so I will give you the facts.
They are a Canadian company, based in Toronto. They own Tim Horton's, Popeyes, and Burger King. Popeyes and BK maintain their headquarters in Miami but the mother corporation is headquartered in Toronto.
49% of Restaurant Brands International is publicly traded. 51% is owned by a Brazilian company. That's right, Brazil. So black and Hispanic folks own, and are in charge of the majority of the company. They have the ultimate authority to make decisions, so claiming racism doesn't work.

Studies have found that black communities are disproportionately "food swamps"—areas where healthy options like grocery stores are few and far between, and fast food restaurants like Wendy&aposs, McDonald&aposs, and Burger King dot every corner.
This author has clearly never had a home cooked meal at a gathering or dinner in a black neighborhood. The food is absolutely delicious, but way more unhealthy than just about anything you could get from a fast food place. Hell, older white people in the south cook incredibly unhealthy meals all the time too. The amount of salt, butter, and lard my grandmother used to cook with was insane.
