Your governor sucks.

no, it would change a lot. it would change companies minds about writing business here when they can't get what they need to continue to write business in this state.
You are assuming that the Commish would actually refuse a rate increase request.

Landry is passing the buck here. The insurance commissioner can already do this.
THIS...
Not sure why this isnt the fricking headline..
this jerkoff is going to tie this back to the failed amendments to get them passed by the ignorants that put him in there

Landry has been the absolute worst politician I think I’ve ever seen

Landry's shifting blame to the insurance commissioner instead of actually working towards the root cause. This is so that going forward he can just finger point and say that it's the commissioner's fault.
The more he speaks or does anything the less I respect him. He is so obviously all about him and seemingly oblivious to the fact and that everyone knows it - it's just painful to watch.

How are the people so ignorant as to not see that Plaintiff Attorneys, Judges, Public Adjusters (for property) are your enemies?
I am right with you. The trial lawyers are literally screwing the entire state. Sure, they bought LSU a couple of national titles and Gordon gives away a few hundred bikes at Christmas. But does that actually make up for the fact they are totally ruining the finances of every responsible, insurance-carrying driver in this state?
And these ambulance chasers represent some really bad drivers who get themselves into bad wrecks, sue the person or business they hit, complain of phantom injuries and get awarded big verdicts? And the trial lawyers are good buddies with the judges in this state (wonder why). And Landry is right in their back pocket too.
It is infuriating.

Temple blames high insurance rates on a legal system that he says allows too many lawsuits and big payouts for injured drivers and their attorneys.
If you don’t address the above over-regulating rate increases will end up pushing more insurance companies out of the state.
Landry is trying to fix the smaller issue and ignoring the big one actually inflating rates.

News: "Landry making an effort to reduce costs for Louisianians"
You people: "omg... he's such a bad person"
Posted on 4/17/25 at 12:37 pm to dallastigers
Yep. Landry is going to make a bad situation much worse. Dictating profit margins and rates will cause these companies to get out of Louisiana and then we’ll all be even worse off.

I'm not sure the failed amendments are not as much a referendum on Landry as anything else? I mean the dude could make puppies unlikable by finding some confounded logic for why he likes them that is preposterous.

Then it’s political bullshite of blame game

More like Landry makes an effort to get credit for reducing costs for Louisianians in a self-serving way.

You are probably 100% correct.
At this rate, Landry will likely lose reelection to pretty much any credible republican candidate.

Actually, he’s a really good politicianin that has learned how to build a heck of a coalition for a campaign and self promotion.
The dude was able to skip every single debate/forum, except maybe one, and won the Governor’s race outright in the primary. All the things people are seeing now, like the cozying up to trial lawyers, his position on the lawsuits against the O&G industry, returning favors to Billy Nungesser and Cleo Fields….all that bounced right off him when brought up during the campaign.
The way he positioned himself to win the Gov’s Mansion was actually masterful politics.

We need insurance companies to do business in this state with healthy competition. We don't need ambulance chasers.
Posted on 4/17/25 at 1:29 pm to ragincajun03
I wish someone would explain the injury attorney industry to me like I'm a 5 year old. I've never understood this and how it works. All I know is that these lawyers, and frankly...most of the people they represent, are sleezebags.

Yeah, this isn't like CA or TX wherein the population alone could force the insurance company to negotiate down. If you are State Farm, would you pull out of one or both and keep yourself from 50 million+ potential customers
If LA said no flat out, it's no skin off the insurance company to pull out....only 3-4 million potential on a good day
