This map isn't correct for Mississippi. MS has no inspection requirements and hasn't for a long time.

I hope this law passes. They tried to pass it fairly recently but it failed.

I cannot wait for the legislature to frick this up. We'll probably end up paying $50/year after its all said and done.

This is a loaf of BS. The $6 annual fee is just to keep the revenue stream for the state. There's a big identity code attached to everyone's car called a license plate that already has all the info he's talking about.

Didn’t realize my license plate had my registration and insurance information on it.

Why do the police ask for your registration then?

Btw this is how Texas does it. They scan their inspection sticker and it has all the information

The last few years they've tried. It didn't make it out of committee. Maybe it can finally get out of committee?

The plate readers also cost thousands of dollars when your phone can scan a code.

This sticker would also replace you getting an inspection sticker and registration sticker. Will cut down on printing.

States are moving to digital plates anyway.

This entire board made a fool of themselves when Kelly was fired.

Literally already provided by registration….

I've opted out of inspection stickers for the last 10+ years.
I'll opt out of this stupid arse inconvenient QR code as well.

I'll gladly give you $10/yr extra on my registration for whatever political bullshite corruption you need.
Stop pretending we need to pay for a sticker on our car when all of this information can be tied to the big arse fricking license plate on the car. And if you don't have a license plate on your car....

If you are 60 days past due on your insurance.....

and the EPA can go to hell

So do you keep your registration in your car?

If so why aren’t you making a big deal about that?

This sticker becomes the registration.

This should already be tied to the registration.

What needs to be paid for beyond that? (Aside from padding the LSP budget)

No. I don't.
And I also don't carry my physical license with me either.
Nor do i keep the piece of paper with my insurance policy on it in the car either.

I do carry a cell phone though, and as crazy as it sounds for some of you who still live in 1995, it is able to store and provide all of that information.

The sticker becomes the registration sheet that you are currently supposed to keep in your car.

Well instead of handing the officer your phone he will just scan it now.

Easier for you.

Mine expired in February. Should I wait to see if this actually happens or not?
