Not trying to victim blame, but maybe the OP should have been job searching a few months ago.

Management does a good job of telling their employees they are safe and haven’t heard anything right after the meeting where they were told how many were getting axed. Sometimes the writing on the wall is obvious, sometimes it ain’t.

I got laid off in November and got a new job in May that is the best thing that’s happened to me in a long time. Sometimes it works out for the best.
Laid off on a Friday, following Monday was my birthday coincidentally. I did get some severance at least and was actively looking to leave that job.

What is the name of the company?
I’m not going to explicitly say it, but they are a well known Braves sponsor.

It was completely out of left field. I was only 10 months into my tenure, and had no indication my performance was bad or that the company was looking to cut.

You should easily get another job in no time if you are in analytics. Don't you Doordash as well, if I recall, as supplemental income?

Only losers get laid off, stop being one.
Just kidding, best wishes

I quit that once crime started getting out of hand. I might have to pick it back up to supplement GADOT unemployment. Only got a week’s severance since my tenure was so short.

God won't give you more than you can handle.
It may be uncomfortable for a minute, but you'll come out better on the other side.

Happened to me last Wednesday. So I’m right there with ya. Here’s what to do.
Get your resume updated and to a couple head hunters, then let them go to work for you. While they search private sector jobs, look for any high level government job you could slide into. Adding a nice title bump, good benefits, and a potential pension is never a bad thing.
Take a long weekend and get away. I went up to my hunting camp to bush hog and drink beer.
Spend some extra intentional time with your family, and find a certification or two to get.
Something will come up soon. I had an interview today and another one with with a different company next Tuesday

Could use some words of encouragement from you goofy baws.
I got laid off in 2016 after 29 yrs with same company. They did me a favor in the long run because 1.5 yrs later they closed the plant. Anyway, it took me about 8 months but I got a new job better than the one I had. I found some work with some contractors that paid a few bills and the severence I got was huge so in the long run I was better off.

I got laid off when I was 30. I switched industries and worked four years learning the new industry. Then partnered in a startup and we hit it out of the park.
America is a land of second chances. Go get ‘em, and good luck to you!

Get your resume together.

Hopefully you didn’t have to train the Indians who were going to replace you.
