And then enjoy the jail cell you will be in for the warrant next time you get pulled over.
Explain how you can get a warrant for a ticket you never had the chance to defend yourself in court on? They ticket the car not the driver.
Imagine the check you would get for the wrongful arrest

quote:I'm going to guess it's in Winnfield on HWY 167. They have one too close (according to state law for unmanned speed enforcement) to a drop from 45 to 35 and the trailer is actually close enough to read speed prior to a vehicle coming into the 35 zone. Their police chief bragged about how many tickets they've been issuing and how residents shouldn't be concerned because they were only issuing tickets to non-residents. It's a cash grab that won' stand up if it went to court, which the way they issue and enforce it's not something that would advance to court or a warrant. They just want an out of towner to see it get scared at whatever vague language they use and then send them a check. It may not be Winnfield, but I know several people who have been hit with those going from Lafayette to North La over the last 6 months or so.
What town if you don't mind me asking?

There has been no warrant for my arrest, suspension of my driver's license, or effect on my credit. You don't need to file some freedom of information shite...
you don't need to do shite. It's literally a scam. Do not pay it. Forget about it.
After I closed on my house, I asked my mortgage guy if red light tickets had any effect on a person's credit score.
He said absolutely not. I have not paid a red light ticket since that time.

Those speed camera’s actually should be illegal in La because you have no way of defending yourself.
Not only that, but there's no way for them to prove who was driving.
It's kind of a problem to issue a citation to someone who may not have even been in the car.

I have had 18 of the ones that say I didn’t come to a full stop at a stop sign. ( I do and the video shows it)
5 for speeding.
Everyone goes in the trash.
I called the number on the first one I got and the lady told me they are a private company and are not affiliated with any kind of Government or police.
That’s all I got.

What could possibly go wrong? Do you have the balls to just not pay it?

Do you have the opportunity to face your accuser in a court of law and defend yourself? If not, they can't do anything to you for not paying it.
I actually got one in New Orleans and took it the distance.
There is no court, they use some magistrate that I never heard of on a zoom call. An officer testified the machine was in working order and certified.
They show you a video of your vehicle. I asked to see a picture of the driver to prove it was me and they said they could not for privacy reasons. I told them I was not driving and was not responsible. She found me guilty anyway, and I laughed and said what kind of kangaroo money grab court is this to find a guilty verdict with zero proof of the perpetrator committing the crime.
I was then told it was a civil matter and not a criminal one. So they can’t do anything. I told them the check was in the mail….

I throw away tickets like that all the time. Do not pay it unless the cop actually issues you a ticket in person

Was it certified? If not then they can’t prove you got it

No. The law only covers speed cameras. I bet Baker PD is pissed right about now....

Is there no way for them to enforce it for some reason?

You license plate will be flagged. If you get pulled over again after the due date on that ticket, you could be jailed until you pay the ticket.

Next time snap a pic of the ticket on top of the trash in your trash can, print it out, mail the picture back to them.
