If this witness is going to help you, get an attorney friend to draw up an affidavit immediately with everything you want her to say, and get her to sign it ASAP. Wouldn’t want her disappearing later or changing her word.

The February after Katrina, a black guy tboned me at the I610 and Elysian Fields offramp.
There still were no stoplights. Guy ran the stop sign. He hit my truck so hard it pushed it 5 feet.
We get out our vehicles and he immediately says "You ran a stop sign."
"No I didn't. Look how hard you hit me. You weren't even slowing down."
At that point some random black dude, who for some reason was carrying a hammer, ran across the street and said "fricking white boy ran the stop sign. I seen it. fricking white boy. Yo arse going to jail. fricking white boy," while brandishing his hammer at me.
An exhausted looking cop showed up. Looked at the scene and said that he couldn't tell who was in the wrong because our stories conflicted.
The whole time the cop was talking to us, MC Hammer was yelling "that white mother fricker done it. I seent it. fricking white boy."
I was able to drive back home. Insurance covered it. fricking truck never drove the same after that though.

I personally was curious bc you said you live on St Charles and car break ins are not that common on St Charles itself due to it being so highly trafficked. Also, I live between the 4000 and 4800 block of St Charles so I was curious what block.

I live within that same set of blocks. Also if you’re from 21210 I am from 22207 originally.

I’m closer to Freret than St Charles and that’s as specific as I’ll get.
Cool deal, I was just curious. There were some more break ins yesterday in the area. No clue how I’ve escaped damage so far. Anyway, good luck with the wreck BS.

I'm not even a woman (though I can act like a bitch) and I want to get my hair done over there just to support the lady for agreeing to get involved and standing up for what is right. We need more people like this in society (and especially down here). Happy to hear that.

Except that I have a witness as well as video of an officer saying I had the right of way.

Baw I just texted the same thing to my friends. I told them I wish I could patronize her. I don’t want to do anything illegal though. Can’t imagine it’s kosher to patronize someone who is testifying for you whether potentially in insurance or court.
I bet she gets fed up with all the crime around that area. Her salon looks like the nicest thing on that corner based on the interior images on the website.

Similar thing happened to me except they were all in the vehicle. Everyone went to the hospital even though it was a 5 mph fender bender. 2 had warrants and were arrested on discharge. They started calling my insurance agent the next day demanding to get a check.

I’m just telling y’all the facts. The last thing I want is to find out I have a minor injury that gets exacerbated over time that I didn’t deal with immediately. This post was edited on 10/13/20 at 3:39 pm

Had a friend who was in an accident. Both parties represented by USAA. They actually took the case to trial and it was pretty rough.
