If you take this route, look into Lonestar Doodles. They are located in Weatherford, TX.

Like others suggested go to Huntington Farms. I got my boy from there 10yrs ago and he is the best dog I’ve ever owned.

A buddy of mine got a fantastic Golden Retriever from Huntington. Great dog. Died of cancer at 3 yrs old.

easygoing temperament

Upon researching the issue with goldens, and that breeder, we learned that half of the puppies in Rusty’s litter died identically, and that it had happened to several other litters in the past.
highest level of genetic quality
That’s not to indict that breeder, only to share my experience. HSA is unfortunately common in goldens, but has a strong genetic component that can be exacerbated by restrictive breeding. Hunnington goldens are of one type…”English Cream”. I believe there’s a correlation

There is no official golden doodle breed
You are very wrong about this.
They arent recognized by the AKC. They are a literal mix of two breeds and are not an official pure breed.
And they are overrated.

My golden from HF lived to be almost 13. In her entire life she saw the vet twice outside of checkups/shots and that was for heat spots. There is a website called K9data.com that is a database of GR lineage and hers was traceable back the early 1900s on both sides and at no point was there close breeding. Luck of the draw? I don't know.

Blue Diamond Family pups. They are out of Ohio, but they will deliver the dog to your door with a driver(not like FedEx or UPS). Got our dog, mini golden doodle, from them about 4 years ago. Best dog I've ever had. Had a friend get one from them last year, and he swears its the best dog he's ever had. They will send you texts, photos, vides of the dog to help you choose.
I just looked at their site, and I'm pretty confident the dog they are showing for the mini golden doodle picture, is my dog.

That is absolutely an indictment of the breeder.

Golden doodles aren’t overrated. They are extremely good family dogs.

Not guaranteed with purebred dogs. Maybe better odds, but even genetics can't predict temperament, smarts or disposition.
Some friends that own Bostons paid over $2k for a Blue Boston, and that damn dog is dumb as a box of rocks.

Louisiana Poodle Plantation near Franklinton, La. you can find them on FB

They are extremely good family dogs.
They can be. They also high grooming needs which most owners dont take care of. They can have separation anxiety and can be neurotic, needing frequent stimulation before the behavior becomes destructive. They are prone to hip dysplasia, allergies, and bloat due to their size. They also are prone to cancer due to being a mix of two breeds who are already pre-disposed to it.
While yes they can be good family dogs like many breeds. They arent this perfect niche breed everyone thinks they are.

The absolute worst dog breed

I have a standard F1 that was bread at Huntington Farms that I "adopted" as an 8 year old after my GSD died Dec 2024. Elderly owner gave him up when she could no longer care for him. I lucked into him when they gave him back to Huntington Farms and I called them looking for a puppy. They told me Maurice's story and we couldn't say no. Can't say enough good about him. Incredible dog, right in the head, well trained, smart, polite, just a great animal friend.
We loved him so much we got another doodle. This one is a multi-gen mini, 25 pound parti colored I got from Neal Family Doodles in Thibodaux. If you want a smaller dog, I 100% recommend this breeder (Lisa Neal). Responsible and knowledgable, but is only gonna do one or maybe two litters a year. Unless you are looking for a big dog, I would get a dog from Lisa if you can. My mini is smart, confident, playful, friendly and was a breeze to train.
A lot are gonna shite on this hybrid mix, but they are great dogs. Mine take the best of both worlds from Golden and Poodle if you ask me, and the no-shed deal is a game changer. Just pick a responsible breeder. The shelter dog experience is exceptionally rewarding, but if you are a responsible dog owner, then you shouldn't feel bad about getting the best dog that fits your needs.

how about let the man get whatever fricking dog he wants? a-hole
Got a sheepadoodle from a place out in mississippi, golden valley doodles but they also sold goldens.
I'd look at standard poodles too, great dogs. Just had to put down ours a few months ago but she was a great dog.

I was in Lowe's yesterday and a guy had his dog with him. It was a combo of Old English Sheepdog and Poodle.. I couldn't tell the difference.. It looked just like an OES to me... My mom had an OES and that dog was the absolute sweetest dog I have ever met but had the smell of a skunk.. So maybe that smell was outbred of the dog...
When my mom passed away that dog slept right outside my mom'e bedroom.. The dog grieved for weeks.. She actually tried to bite someone which was completely abnormal for her..

if a golden retriever fricks a poodle on the street the puppies will be mutts.
Everybody knows street poodles are just trashy sluts and any offspring will be trashy as well.

We got our girl from MNJ Kennels in Loranger years ago. They're a small operation so I'm not sure if they have any litters right now but you could check with them. We know a few other people who bought from them and they all had good experiences too.
I've heard bad things about Huntington but that could be because the ones who have problems will be loud about it. I know some people who rave about them too.
