My golden from HF lived to be almost 13. In her entire life she saw the vet twice outside of checkups/shots and that was for heat spots. There is a website called K9data.com that is a database of GR lineage and hers was traceable back the early 1900s on both sides and at no point was there close breeding. Luck of the draw? I don't know.
