I am researching purchasing a Golden Doodle in the New Orleans Area. Does anyone have breeders you recommended. I am willing on traveling outside the area.

We got ours from shady oaks in orange tx 8 years ago. Best dog I’ve ever owned by a long shot. That’s all I got.

Screw you. Go to the shelter and save a dog's life

What if he has allergies but still wants a pet? What if he doesn’t give a shite about mutts and wants a very particular temperament/disposition?

Golden doodles are mutts.
There is no official golden doodle breed.

You sure you want to skip out on one of these sweet bumper stickers and the right to continually patting yourself on the back for "rescuing" a dog?

Technically all modern dogs are mutts

You are very wrong about this.

if a golden retriever fricks a poodle on the street the puppies will be mutts. If he does it at a breeder they’ll be “golden doodles”

It's not a breed.
It's a mutt.
An ugly, unsettling mutt with human eyes.

I get the shelter thing and rescuing dogs, but if someone adopts a dog instead of buying from a breeder, doesn't that still leave a puppy without a home? Or makes the puppy available for someone else to buy it? You can't expect everyone who wants a dog to go adopt one.

Reach out to Hunnington Farms in Covington. Leslie's dogs are the highest level of genetic quality and easygoing temperament that you can possibly find anywhere around.

We did this recently and found a Labrador Doodle that was confiscated from the previous owner because of abuse. I was worried about his temperament because of the abuse. We've only had him for three months now and he's awesome. No issues at all.

My sister in law got a shelter dog. Poodle mix of some type. It drove her crazy with its terrible behavior and she spent a ton of money getting him cured of heartworms. She finally had to give it back because it would keep her up all night and she couldn't leave it alone very long without it tearing stuff up. She ended up with a lot of money spent for a dog that she couldn't handle. People that want to rescue shelter dogs are doing a great thing but it's not for everyone. If she had just gotten a poodle mix puppy she would have come out about the same monetarily and once it got over the hump of puppy stuff, would have been a great dog.
