Ordered a regular Yukon and we're now questioning if we probably need to look for an XL instead. We will need the third row up all of the time.

I've looked at them and in the moment decided the regular would work for everything but trips, but I've since heard from a couple of guys (who have 3+ kids) that they wish they'd opted for the XL. Anyone have input for me here? Only one kid in the third row so I think I could fold part of that bench and get some room there. Primarily thinking about strollers, etc.

Obviously Tahoe/Suburban thoughts useful here too.

Upgrade to the XL and if you don't need the space it's fine but if you don't upgrade and you DO need the space...you're F'd

Damn son

Did you go from no kids to 3+ kids in like 3 years?

Had a regular tahoe with 3rd row years ago and you couldn't fit shite behind that back seat. maybe a couple carry on suitcases stood up. Not sure how much the newer bodies changed that as mine was an 08.

Do you really need to take ALL of the kids with you everywhere you go?

My mom had the XL and on multiple occasions we fit a couch in that car. It has a LOT of space.

If you get the XL purchase the appropriate engine size and drivetrain.

I love when i see women trying to drive the XLs and only have 2 kids.

They can barely drive those things but some reason thought they needed a suburban for just 2 kids

I'd much rather the Yukon than the XL TBH, which is why I'm doing this exercise

My primary hope is to avoid the shame of showing up to trade in the Yukon for a Kia Carnival

The third row in the regular is ok until a kid is taller than about 3 feet then the leg room back there becomes an issue.

I’d never own a short Yukon or Tahoe.

The answer is Honda Odyssey, sir.

Corvette for dad, Odyssey for mom.

Completely different than previous generations. They added like 10 inches behind the third row from the previous generation. Your 2008 probably had the third row just about touch the tailgate door.

s Honda Odyssey

Unless you get the XL, get a van (unless you have to tow)

I’m an Odyssey owner and I rented an Expedition Max a few weeks ago. The room in that thing is ridiculous.

That said with 3 kids, I’d rather have the van… but I don’t tow anything. We use a roof top carrier for some trips.
