I was told by a mexican, if you have the evil eye stank eye given to you or you throw shade. put a raw egg in a small bowl under the head of your bed. if the egg is fried in the morning the curse is off- wa-la wa-la.

Chewing on raw garlic although intense and causing me to hallucinate from the allicin is one of the best remedies I've ever come across.

Maw Maw used to put something called "camphor balls" in a wad of fabric and pin it to our t-shirt at night. Smelled like Vicks.

A close friend’s grandmother made her kids then grandkids EAT a spoonful of VapoRub if they were overly ill. I thought my buddy was full of shite until his dad verified that he had to do that as a child and did the same to his kids.
My tailgating drink when I’m under the weather is a Crown and Sprite in a 32+oz cup with 4-5 Honey Lemon cough lozenges dropped into the bottom.

Mentholatum on your upper lip before you go to bed, seemed to cure the chest cold at maw-maw’s house.
Dr. Tichenor’s and mercurochrome for everything else.
Who knew it would help me beat COVID-19 45+ years later?!

My go-to is a hot toddy.
Whiskey - analgesic
Steam from the warm water/tea - opens sinuses
Local honey - soothes the throat and introduces local allergens to my body
Lemon - well known “superfood” that has any number of health benefits.
For people who do not like whiskey/bourbon you can substitute with Apple Cider Vinegar with similar results. I normally take a shot of 2 tablespoons ACV plus warm water in a coffee cup every morning and haven't had a cold since last November when I had the Covid.

Had a professor who walked into class one day with a cup in his hand. He said "class, I have a cold today, so I'm not quite myself. I've been drinking my cure for a cold. It's called planters punch. It's a mix of spiced tea, lemonade, honey and Jack Daniel's. I don't know if it works, but after 5 or 6, I just don't give a damn. Now let's get started."
