Tell me how someone can't find a job if they are without dependants and able bodied? They just don't want to do the job the job center gives or offers.

Nearly 8,000 residents lost their SNAP benefits between April and October, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. That’s a 20-fold increase from last year.

Next necessary steps :
> Drug test. I am subject to drug test and I earn a living. How much more should one receiving welfare be subject to taking one?
> If one's on welfare unable to support oneself, becoming pregnant shouldn't happen. This should be enforced.
Don't cry about civil rights.... what about MY civil rights? That my earnings go towards supporting some who are unwilling to work?

I think more to do is made over food stamps than it honestly deserves. I’m sure there are people who make it a "lifestyle" but they’re the very few. The majority of people need it to put food on the table, and in some cases more healthy food on the table. I have no problem subsidizing a poor family to have healthy food available instead of frozen pizzas every night. I also have no problem putting some sort of restrictions on snap benefits so they can’t be used for soda, cookies, or processed foods.
I question the sincerity of one who celebrates going after food stamp recipients when I highly doubt they feel the same way about corporate welfare or the giant welfare system that is the military and its accompanying industrial complex.

We need more able bodied people off govt support and having to work to pay their way.

Welfare and government spending is a fat pig that we have overfeed and the resulting product is unhealthy fatty meat that needs to be changed
The solution isn’t the give the butchers more knives. The solution is what’s in the feed.
Your solution is to spend MORE money on welfare programs and give the government more power over it. The reverse is what should happen.

I do feel the same way about these. Extremely wasteful government spending in both cases, likely even more so than welfare programs. It doesn’t mean that welfare programs don’t need reform.

Wow. I’m all for a more effective welfare system but what you are suggesting is expensive and horribly unconstitutional. Are you joking? I hope you are joking.

Anyone know the total number of SNAP recipients in Georgia,so as to understand what % got the heave ho? I didn't see that while skimming any of the reports.

Wow right before Christmas too. Probably ruined thousands of family Christmas dinners.
And the GOP wonders why they keep losing

Why would someone downvote this?

Because some people actually need food stamps.
The people who need food stamps and are unable to feed themselves are not who this article was about. This is about the able-bodied that choose not to attempt to feed themselves.
Keep in mind also, the S in SNAP stands for Supplemental. This means you need to mostly feed yourself, and the SNAP benefits supplement your efforts.

Agree with it all, but this
If you can't take care of 1 and want to stick your hand in my pocket then the tube tying is a prerequisite for the handout.

If you cant support 2 kids then instant tube tying and/or long term BC shot

I'm all for temporary assistance but it shouldn't be a lifestyle for people that aren't disabled.
I also think we should disincentivize people on public assistance from reproduction either through reduced benefits for additional children or some sort of birth control/sterilization incentive.

The wall keeps billions in our economy every year. It pays for itself in no time.
I'm glad we could clear that up.

You are not supposed to ask people that base everything on emotion and misinformation to math.

I don't even mind giving food stamps to people who work 40 plus hours a week, but people without a job for more than six months should get nothing.
Find a way to feed thier kids like maybe 3 meals a day at school instead of the current 2 but non-working parents get nothing.

Whoa.
Who’s tubes? Vasectomies are cheaper and less invasive than tubal ligation but I don’t think any man at risk of temporarily losing their livelihood or health would vote for this.
I despise a lazy mooch.. but I wish the Americans that really believe in forced physical birth control for the poor or unemployed folk could be forced to move to China. Do these retards know what “slippery slope” means?
