That's sad man. Jesus said to do it to remember him. He didn't say do it only if you have met certain criteria.

Is the sin liking other men or engaging in physical acts with other men? If the former, then I guess I get it. If the latter, how would the priest know for certain that the man engaged in physical sexuality with other men? A guess? If that's the case, he should refuse communion to every able-bodied male, since masturbation is a sin.

Priest did the right thing, communion won't cure gayness you gotta go to camp for that. Sounds like this guy was just being lazy.

I don't go to communion in the Catholic Church and it sucks since there's not enough room for the fatties to pass by in the pew. I'll let the first few pass then bam, a fattie, I have to walk to the end of it and stand there to wait...then go back and kneel until I have to let the other people get back by. Part of me wants to go up there like a child and just get a blessing instead. Be easier.

If all the Methodists in town wanted to receive the Eucharist, the priest would not allow until they were properly disposed. This is no different.
The guy acknowledged his gay marriage in the obituary, the priest was protecting the sanctity of the Eucharist which is his job.
