For sure. Absolute abomination.
Although not as nice as just a straight pour, I actually kind of like this one because of the bottom spout...

I bought a flexible spout, punched a hole in the top, and put a nail in the hole.
You can't use one of those things to pour gas in a truck.

those are fricking sweet.
I’ll probably pick one up eventually. But a while back i purchased what we call a “shaker siphon”
the plastic tube with the copper fitting that has a copper ball bearing. <$10 on Amazon. Fun to use too.

I hated the scepter tank at first but realized it actually isn’t hard at all to use so I got over this. I really didn’t get how people couldn’t figure out how to use them.
See my post above. It’s not a case of “can’t figure it out”
Let me ask you something, have you ever tried to use that “scepter” can (as you called it) to put gas in a car?

And here’s another under-discussed issue with these cans - the built-in plastic condom filter inside the can.
Its purported primary function of filtering gas coming from the pump is a lie. Its real purpose is to force the shut-off back-flow valve in the gas pump handle to engage moments after you being to pump gas.
It is intentionally forcing you to ease up on the gas pump handle by restricting how fast gas can go through the filter and into the can.
I don’t think it actually reduces over-filling at all. It only causes you to take longer to fill your gas cans, all the while you have to regulate and readjust the amount of pressure you’re applying to the pump handle as you try to keep it in some middle position.

Once you realize how to use this can it is way better.
Push a button it starts and letoff for it to stop. No spills. When filling a small 2 stroke tank it never spills.
No doubt at first it was a pain in the arse until I realized how hard I was overworking the problem. Doesn't smell like gasoline when transporting it either.

We use the 6 gallon version of that for mixed 2 stroke dirt bike fuel. I have a couple more for premium gas for other bikes. Hate the crappy pour spouts on the regulated 1, w, and 5 gal containers. Free at last!

I hate to do it, but I agree. I’m not one for regulations and I hated those cans when they first came out. But they are super convenient if you use them correctly. Little nub on the bottom lets you rest it on the mower, put it in place and hit the button when you are ready to go. No rushing to put it in like a teenager before it spills out everywhere.

This one has worked well for me over the years.

Get some of these and don’t look back. It’s all I’ve used for 20 years.
