Area of Africa is 11.7 million square miles
The area of the USA is 3.8 million square miles
3 USAs = 11.4 million square miles.
It's fascinating just how large a landmass the continent of Africa is.

That would be like putting ants from 2 different mounds together.
You’d have chaos.
You’d have chaos.

Or we can take what we have of Africa here and return it to sender.

Trivia: What U.S. state is closest to the continent of Africa? And, no, it's not Florida.

Yes, and they can he NBA and the NFL.
The USA can get baseball players from Japan and South America, plus it may give Braxton a chance at the show even though he sucks.

Maine. This comes up on this board about once every 3 months.

And how many still live in huts?

Even more fascinating is their lack of progress despite vast amounts of resources.

Yes because USA is a country and Africa is a continent.

It’s crazy how people don’t understand that.

Everyone understands that, and it has nothing to do with anything. Europe is a continent and smaller than the USA.
People in this thread understand that the USA is thought of as a big place and to see how small it is compared to Africa is pretty neat. Globes and maps distort their relative sizes.

Oh so that’s why Australia is bigger than Russia. Thanks, prof.

Russia is a country and can fit in Africa 1 1/2 times. However, Russia is still a country and Africa is still a continent.
Did you know there are 54 countries in Africa? And you can fit 7 Congos in Russia!

The USA has a decent amount of desert land but the Sahara is 3.6 million square miles (~95% of the area of one USA) and there’s additional desert in South Africa and Namibia that brings the total of arid and semi-arid lands to well over 4.3 million square miles in Africa.
Contrast the US’s desert areas (mainly CA, AZ, NV, UT, & NM) of ~ 500,000 square miles.
All told, the African continent without deserts is twice as much area as the area w/out deserts of the US.
Canada is just a bit larger than the US: 3.8 million square miles. Very little technical desert land there (around Kamloops, cool place to visit)
