This is only still a story because the black kid's family is trying to scream self defense and people online are trying to paint the victim as a racist.

Has anyone been able to explain why someone would bring a knife to a high school athletic event? A little rusty on my Dallas area geography, but Frisco is not known for being a violent place.

Was the person who died armed or something? The self defense story seems like bullshite.

Has it been posted that this kid is originally from Baton Rouge?

This is a news article from about 3 years ago.

I still say this is the wrong approach to this topic. I wouldn't be surprised if all kinds of baws carry knives of some sort with them everywhere in Texas and elsewhere. I don't have a problem with that.

My problem is with, you know, STABBING A STUDENT TO DEATH WITH ZERO PROVOCATION USING THE KNIFE.

I can’t see a date, but using a capital “B” makes it seem post Summer of Love which is crazy because they are talking like black people back in 60s to maybe a little later. Being surprised a white person is going to help a black child just pulled out a pool is due to black leadership and Dems. They make blacks prejudice towards whites like this and to view all whites as racist until they prove themselves. It took helping to save a black kid to show not all whites are racist.

That story was only 3 years ago. Makes you wonder how this kid changed that much in so little time.

I don't care where you are from who brings a knife to a high school event? Especially a 17 year old. I don't believe this is the same as carrying some sort of pocket knife.

But aren’t weapons illegal on school property? I know when we go watch the nephews play football my BIL leaves his piece in the car. Wouldn’t think knives are ok. Broken law #1 if so.

Bringing them into a school or onto school property during school hours or school events? That was not my experience. I am sure it happened some without getting caught by the school, but those would have been outside of the norm. This could be district based.

You are still 100% correct about the below.

My problem is with, you know, STABBING A STUDENT TO DEATH WITH ZERO PROVOCATION USING THE KNIFE.

My own non-insider view about the knife including carrying it around with him at a track meet is that he went to track meet wanting to instigate things and use the knife. He was smaller than the kid he murdered (70 pounds in weight not sure about height). Murder might not have been ultimate goal, but this wasn’t a heat of the moment action.

My city is very safe. I carry a pocket knife on me everywhere I go, including functions at my children's school, unless I'm going through some type of security.

If I was 17 and at a track event, I doubt I'd have a knife on me though. I didn't daily carry a knife in high school for what I'd hope are obvious reasons

With a knife being illegal on school property in Texas depends on the length of the blade for adults. Being against school and district policy for students covers any length.

I saw the above looking at report on the planes diverted to BR from NO. Those are different attorneys than the attorney who was quoted late last week as saying his client said it was self defense and he hasn’t given him any reason to doubt him.

They switched from a white male (looked white) to a black male and a black female who seem to use race.

The money from the fundraiser will help the family retain two top Texas attorneys with a history of taking on racially charged cases, including negotiating a settlement for a 14-year-old girl manhandled by a cop at the 2015 “McKinney pool party” incident.

I forgot to answer this question earlier, but yes it has been posted. Someone fairly early on had the info, and then the released arrest report or whatever it was listed Baton Rouge as place of birth.

We also got a little confirmation when we found out his full name - Karmelo Sincere Anthony.

The correct spelling of “Sincere” left some doubt until the official document was posted.

The fundraising is crazy. Murder someone and then your family can collect 3-4x annual income in a couple of weeks.

Ernest Herndon, aka Leather Britches, used to write outdoor columns for the Enterprise-Journal like 40+ years ago, newspaper based out of McComb, MS. Guess he's still doing it.

How the heck did you just happen to have a copy of an article with KA in it? Impressed.
