I don't know if that's true. I'm leaning towards he went there with the intention to provoke thinking he could claim self-defense if got them to throw the first punch.

I also disagree with first degree murder alone not being a capital offense
I'm on the fence but tend to agree. I'm an eye for an eye type of person.

Ahh. I see you are just guessing and stating things as facts

At first I thought you might have been talking about another incident

Lets not judge the man. Imagine losing a son to some stupid shite and then getting thrusted into what is likely going to turn into a racial shitshow. its ultimately not gonna matter, but the man is probably worried that his family will be in danger from all of this.

Nope, not guessing. These tents are set up as their locker rooms for storage of personal items while competing because there isn't enough space for everyone in the actual locker rooms. Everyone knows where each other's locker rooms are.

If he wasn't there to steal from them, then he specifically went there to fight someone, which would make it premeditated. Pick one.

ETA: Him being there to steal something is the BETTER option of all available.

This is only still a story because the black kid's family is trying to scream self defense and people online are trying to paint the victim as a racist.

I just saw it's got over 500 replies now and is a major news story.

Just another dumb assumption from you. Par for the course

Obviously none of us know b/c we were not there. It really sounds like the kid was going around stealing things and got called out. At the end of the day a kid brought a knife to a track meet and stabbed another kid in the chest. I don't see how that can happen and it not be 1st degree murder. If they got into a fight and he pushed him down the bleachers causing to die from brain injury that's different.

It really doesn’t people

That would absolutely be added to his list of charges

And just to repeat, him going around and stealing things is the better option here.

The other option is he went there specifically to harm someone.

Regardless, he knew he was not where he was supposed to be and intentionally went somewhere he knew he was not supposed to be with some level of ill intent. He either intended to steal from them, or he intended to fight someone. Personally, I think the intending to steal from them is the better option of the 2.

OK, my mistake. I'm assuming the best about the kid. I assume he was there to steal from them and did not intentionally walk into their locker room area intending to kill someone.

My bad. I shouldn't have given him that much credit.

I just think it’s foolish to state completely unknowns as facts while getting mad at angry at other people for doing the exact same

And, to your point, him stealing or not stealing is zero consequence to the charges of first degree murder

The story as it is currently laid out makes it appear Antony targeted Metcalf before the day even began. Hence the 1st degree charges

Sorry for assuming the best. I'll try to do better in the future.

So premeditated murder. Should be the death penalty.
