This happened to a friend of mine as younger sister hit about 20. Parents were married almost 30 years she was a nurse and he was a plumbing contractor and then one day mom says I 'm leaving your Dad and I want you all to meet the love of my life, who was a doctor that she would interact with as he was the Hospitalist.

She had been working his root for about 3 years at that point because he had divorced his wife about 2.5 years before because he was.....a serial cheater.

For the many in this thread who said ‘send him to the Philippines ‘.. hard to argue

quote:

Retirement doesn’t have to be a luxury — but it can be luxurious. A popular tourist destination has just hit the top spot for retirement. And for good reason. Americans are finding it nearly impossible to retire in the US as inflation hit new highs for the first time in three years. The place folks are flocking to in their golden years: the Philippines. The gorgeous tourist destination has been named the number one place to retire thanks to the Retirement Abroad Index 2026 from Expatriate Group

.. although i would tend to quibble with the above assertion that the Philippines is ‘luxurious’.. large swaths of it are shitholes.. still , it’s one of the few remaining places on the planet where a Western guy- even an obese slob in their 50s, 60s, or 70s- can still easily get a hot woman in her 20s or 30s .

If he was treating her right and she still left you, the hell with her.

If he was taking her for granted and not treating her right, then shame on him. He had it coming.

If she was a royal pain the arse and you couldn’t stand her anymore, then she did you a solid.

Either way, this is good advice: When A Woman’s Fed Up

Yeah I know a loser who chewed through any hope of dating American women by being an egocentric obsessive / compulsive idiot who's in the Phillipines now. He's constantly posting Glamour style photos of he and his young oriental blossom and their happy life together. More power to him.

I'm sure it's true love as long as his bank account stays healthy.

I have a client who's SIL and her husband were best friends with another couple. They go out to eat, vacation, party, etc. together. The SIL's husband starts fooling around with the other friend's wife. He winds up leaving her for the friend's wife. Six months later, the SIL is talking to her ex friend's ex husband and they decide to get married.

They straight up traded spouses. The 2 cheaters eventually broke up, but the SIL is still married to her ex friend's ex husband. Life is weird.

I knew a girl in college who’s parents did that. Both pair of friends divorced and married the other’s spouse and everyone got along. That was in the mid 80’s, I wonder if they are all still married.

Which is why i mentioend in a previous post that if you are even slightly on the younger side (as i am) and even slgithly give two shits about how you look and put effort into taking care of yourself (as i do)- it goes a long, long way here , and sets you apart pretty quick .

Very true, in literally EVERY country in the world .. it’s just that the barrier for entry here in SE Asia is much lower .

Bitter? Damn right I would be. He very likely worked himself into the ground trying to keep her happy and she does this? Nah- there are no free passes in life.

Avoid me if you don't want to be reminded what a back-stabbing POS you are. Have a nice day.

He should move to The Villages, Florida

If you are older. The female to male ratio is 7 to 1. If you stay 50 yards away, many of the females look pretty good. Once you get closer for inspection, the illusion is ruined. However, there are a lot of 50'ish women that look good and are still in good shape. City Fire restaurants and bars are the places you go for a quick connection. Most stories about The Villages are not true, but you can take this one to the bank. (Just avoid the "professionals" that are working. If they look too young to be there, they are working.)

Hopefully they dont have little kids. Far too often the little ones are most affected. Praying your friend is able to sort things out and make the most of their life.

Sure, but social media also made it easy to cheat. Damn near any woman can post a filtered pic, and dudes will rush to tell her how beautiful she is and her girl friends will fill up comments with “yaaaas girl” and “slay queen!!”
