The news asking viewers to send in photos is such a joke. When people are going through it, nobody is thinking, “hold on, let me take a quick pic to send in to WAFB…”
They prob get thousands of pics sent in, people love that shite

It's so sweet how all you Baton Rouge folks think your power grid is fragile. Move to Houston and we can show you what fragile really is
It’s so sweet that you want to get in a pissing match over whose power grid is worse

I feel that is the most appropriate pissing match for a thread about a hurricane rolling into Louisiana.

LaPLace seems to be run as well as nola. They know they flood but, nothing changes
There is a very large levee system being built right now. Someone finally got the funding.
Several years ago(Gustav maybe?) La Place flooded badly at several people were blaming it on all the levees that got built in other places, which funneled more water up to them.
Not sure if I buy that as I kind of think it was just the direction(wind and movement) of that particular storm.

how many times has La. been hit by a storm in this direction? Seems odd
Not any of this significance that I can remember at this angle and location. Others have made landfall at this angle but they'll all been closer to Grand Isle. This angle and location would be the worst case scenario for Baton Rouge in the case of a Cat 3/4/5.

These govt officials pressers they hold are the most worthless things done during these storms.
I love how they tell you to keep your phone charged, like people don’t do that already.
Everyone is in windbreakers and looking like the world is ending.
Has anyone ever even used the GOHSEP website? Do people really need tips on how to prepare?

You dont need a model at this point.
Look at the 500, 700 mb upper air charts. Its why the NHC has refused to budge for the last day.

They seem to only hold them because people would go nuts if they didn't hold them.

Hurricane Isaac is what gave it to Laplace, weak hurricane, giant rain event
