A week of no power looks very likely in my opinion for certain parts of SE LA.

That's cheerful news

This is from my nephew who works for Fox Weather out of NYC.
As of 5:50 a.m. from him:
Might be helpful to some of you, might not. You get to decide.

There have been some slight shifts east after landfall.
The core could move directly through southeast LA now closer to BR
Still forecast to be a CAT 2

That would be one hell of a jog east

The gfs has been leaning east and it seems like the euro has been leaning slightly west. NHC seems to lean with the euro.

Francine isn't gonna be happy until she's putting pine trees on my roof

Euro has landfall a little more east than yesterday

I’m assuming that would mean the NHC and Euro are leaning toward a weaker storm which would be good news.

And a drop in pressure also right?
Yikes.

And that's WITH it moving northeast until it gets due south of the NHC's forecast landfall point, at which point it jumps due north for a landfall, and then resumes a NE heading.

Even if the GFS verifies still nails BR pretty good.

Yesterday the Euro had it as barely a cat 2 at 978 mb just before landing. Today it's 974 mb just before landing. Not much of a change but not the direction we want to see

Shoot. I was hoping Nola would skate by with 30mph winds and 2 inches of rain but it may get a bit worse.
