didn't read the story, and won't, I'm old, really old, but I remember a few girls in junior high school that were insatiably horny, would beg for trains all of the time(I wasn't a part of any,) any place, any time, everything would have been a legal rape, but how do you deal with that?

Where did you grow up? That’s not happening in wealthy white ville. At that age at least.

I wouldn’t call it optimistic, but rather realistic due to “social promotion”. Kids can have failing grades, poor school attendance, and never learn a thing yet they will be advanced to the next grade to keep up with their peers. The aforementioned kids criminal activity will eventually dismiss them from the educational system.
