Oh horeshit! I saw a million commercials, press releases, and articles that the reason we had to shutdown the country was to flatten the curve so as to not overwhelm hospitals and run out of vents. That was it straight and simple.
Now you minions have taken this whole mess and politicized it according to agendas to tried to spin things into a 100 different directions about why we can't open things back up.

You're assuming items. I'm not against reopening in a reasonable manner.
I'm just pointing out that IMO the goalposts haven't really moved that much because the goal wasn't truly defined. There was not consensus on what it should be. Maybe Trump defined it one way, Fauci another and JBE another. Defining the curve metrics in a consensus matter was NEVER achieved.
I elected to go to the dentist yesterday to support business. And I stated my position was I wish that it was easy for the dentist to have a test done within 24-48 hours before my appointment to confirm his COVID status. I think that's reasonable for someone that would be in your face to do their job, to have easy access to tests. This IS a respiratory disease.
I do understand the debate about the curves. The cumulative curve is very different than just a daily case curve. The ICU bed capacity has different parameters as well - many could be non-COVID related, but it could matter in this pandemic. Metrics are changing in many folks opinions because "flatten the curve" was not defined in a consensus manner.

The goal from the outset was clearly defined as flattening the curve. It was touted for weeks. You're bending over backwards to defend every single change in metrics.
The curve has been flattened and now we've moved on to another reason why we should stay locked down.
