What unemployment rate would you consider a tipping point for opening things up. I believe we're already at 15%.

20%? 30? Higher?

I went to the dentist yesterday and would have felt much more comfortable if I knew the dentist had been confirmed to test negative for COVID-19 in the past 24-48 hours. I'm sure he felt similarly for me.

As an oral surgeon this is fricking retarded. Am I supposed to get a test done every day so that my patients in the future can all rest easy knowing that I passed a test within 48 hours of their appointment?

Don't try being rational with that idiot. It's futile.

That flattening the curve would cause it to disappear. Trumps quote was before all that. And it, too, was rhetoric.

no scientist said flattening the curve would make it disappear. The flattening the curve was false promise spewed by the president. The curve had no timeline on it. It had a defined y axis but no defined x axis.

We needed to buy time and with that rhetoric it worked.

Old and sick people die? Good lord! The humanity!

People who are old and sick usually live forever!

Destroying the lives of everyone else will surely make sure old and sick people die in December from being old and sick instead in June!

But this virus has changed a LOT for me and I don't think social issues will continue to take precedence over other more important things for me going forward.

I'm sorry, but if "social issues" drive who you vote for, you should lose your right to vote. There is so much more important stuff out there than making sure that 43rd gender gets added to an employment form.

Ah yes the classic I have money and an audience so my opinion must be right.

Not taking a side here, but that seems to be the trend with this guy.

If you read further I said “ We needed to buy time and with that rhetoric it worked.”

. I do not recall a consensus statement citing "flatten the daily new cases curve" or "flatten the cumulative new cases curve" or "flatten the daily deaths curve" or "flatten the number of patients in the ICU curve", etc

Backed it up a little bit there. So flattening the curve was started in Trump's office?
