Are there any good auto repair shops in BR that don’t charge an arm and a leg for repair work? I have an older Volvo that’s leaking coolant.

Is Jeff Cobb still around? I haven't lived there for 10 years, so I don't know. I took a few old Volvos and BMWs there. Interesting character, but he knew his European cars and was always fair on price with me.

Yes, Jeff Cobb is still around. In the last few years, he built a new shop and put up big brick walls around his parking area so your car isn't just sitting overnight outside on S. Acadian. He must be doing cheap repairs by the hundreds to afford all that.

I have a friend who drives BMWs and Porsches that swears by this guy. I have no idea what he costs, but I've heard good things about his work as well.

I have an old Volvo also and called Ragusa's on Government recently and he confirmed they do work on Volvos. I’ve seen an xc70 like mine sitting in the fenced in area for months now so I’m not sure how fast he is or how affordable but worth a try

Whoever you use, make sure it's someone who is good with european cars. I know some mechanics really don't care for euros as opposed to japanese imports

Did you find anyone to use? Now I’m having an issue with my starter on my 2008 xc70 and I’m thinking I’ll try Ragusas

Good to let them know up front it is a European vehicle.

Lots of guys who work on Toyotas, Nissans, and Hondas don't want much of anything to do with Euros, or, will charge you the proverbial arm and a leg.

Paul Loupe at Loupe European Automotive works on mine and I have several older German cars. He only works on BMW, Porsche and Volvo. Maybe old Audis.

Very reasonable and turn around time. Has been doing it for close to forty years or more off-off Exchequer. 225-752-8208

Figure out where the coolant is leaking from and fix it yourself. That’s the easiest system to diagnose and repair.

Absolutely great, at least with BMWs but I wouldn't call their hourly low but it is cheaper than the stealerships.
