You guys scream Tundra all the time but the engines are still imploding, even on brand new trucks. I’d stay away…

Yes, it’s happening but not even remotely close to the disaster with the GM engines. 6.2 takes the cake fur shite show, but the smaller v8 also having issues after warranty & even baby diesel. Ford has endless recalls

Almost all trucks are overpriced nowadays

Ackshually, considering inflation most of them aren’t that much more expensive than trucks from years ago.

I can only speak from personal experience. We have owned two Ford F1 50s: a king Ranch and a platinum. Simply could not ask for a better more reliable vehicle that is both fun to drive and extremely practical.. We never have had a problem of any sort on either vehicle. No experience with GMC but I can vouch for Ford.

My son just bought a 2026 RAM 1500 BigHorn with the 5.7L HEMI.
He absolutely loves his truck. Very good ride for a truck. Seems well built. The RAM Boxes in the bed are the shite. Very nice!

I personally would not have bought that truck only because of eTorque. But that was his decision.

Of the two, Ford. As much as I dread the thought of owning a turbo, the 2.7 has proven to be somewhat reliable.

Mine is 9 years old. Honestly has been a great truck, averages around 20 Mpg, will get up and go. Unless you are regularly towing 5k+ lbs, it would be fine for you.

Light use. Just hauling bikes and ice chests and household stuff. Some 4wd.

Any opinions appreciated.

I bought a 25 Silverado High Country in Jan 25 and at the time they beat the pants off Ford on the deal. I got the HC trim with a 3.0L Diesel Duromax for less than a F150 Lariat with the 3.2L Ecoboost. The Duromax gets 31 mpg on highway and about 23 around town.

Also I tried to get Ford dealer to throw in 3yrs of BlueCruise and they balked completely saying they dont have control over that. BlueCruise is $50/month from Ford. The Silverado HC came with 3yrs of OnStar included with includes SuperCruise. I assume this applies similarly to the GMC Denali trim.

I had two F150's prior to this truck that I kept each 11 yrs. The change was very welcome.

I probably would have bought the Lariat though if they made a better deal.

Pick whatever you like best after test drives and cross your fingers you get a good one. Every single brand has some problems at this point. Even the new Toyota 6 cylinder engines are having pretty significant failures but their older 5.7 V8’s are bulletproof

For the record my last two have been GM 5.3’s and I’ve put 300,000 miles collectively with no major drivetrain issues. Had to replace shocks at one point and put new brake pads on. 5k mile oil changes help keep the lifters happy

Motor/powertrain is warrantied for 10yr/100K. Should be their problem. I already have over 26K on mine.
