Those boots look incredibly uncomfortable

I loved them. They are a desert version of the jungle boot. Very comfortable actually.

Thank you to those how served. We have a volunteer-professional military. Everyone who served in Afghanistan did so freely.

The biggest thing that messed with my mind in Afghanistan, besides the obvious, was the damn 30 minute time offset.
Afghan time was 1:30 ahead of Arabian Standard (Iraq/Kuwait) time.

Thank you for your service, and not that you need me to tell you, but this complete disaster and failure that is unfolding takes nothing away from the sacrifices you and your family made. You did the job you were ordered to do.

Damn I love those boots. Still have them, despite the permanent sewage smell from my Turkey rotation.

US Navy
Fleet 3 Desron 7 (bounced around a few ships during the era, hate to name the wrong one. . .think it was the DDG Howard)
part of the first in the water after 9-11
Made em pound, kept their heads down, softened the ground for you mud-chewing grunts
I was a FC2 or 3 at the time. Aegis Weapons Tech, AN-SPY/1D
