Good to know….you see, this is the kind of thing that needs to be publicized. I knew about the president’s signature, but not about the quarters.

Leftists hate the US, just as they hate western civilization in general. So there’s your answer.

It was a country wide celebration by everyone. Even my small hometown had a parade.

Now with the rise of politics and the democratic parties hated toward America, Americans, and capitalism, much of the country is angry we made it 250 years.

Get off the internet and go out in public. The country is healing where I am and you aren’t seeing this stupid anti-American crap that is spewed 24/7 on TV/social media etc.

If you are looking in the right places, you will always find what you are looking for, good and bad. Start looking for good instead of bad and you’ll be amazed at what you see.

People could disagree about stuff back then and still be friends.

Now politics is more like a religion for some people.

If you don’t endorse all of their ideas, thoughts, actions, you must be canceled.

It's because you're old now. People always remember things from their youth way more fondly than when they are a grumpy old man

Its because boomers have been importing cheap foreign labor for over 30 years now. Their stocks and pensions went up but the country is dying.

Like Trump's speech last night labeling everyone not on the MAGA train as an evil communist that will be exiled? That kinda negativity?

It’s sort of what happens when you bring 20 million people here who don’t speak out language and have more allegiance to their home shite hole country than ours. Then the liberals have so much TDS that they hate our country.

I was 16 at the time. Things were so much simpler back then…most people actually cared back then. No cell phones and not much as far as computer games. People were outside more and just connected different.

This happened in 1976. It is no longer possible and will never happen again.

Sadly you are right. Even the media is pushing this as so so important. It’s like they are force feeding everyone.. bottom line is that things are so different now…

I don't get much vibe of the 250 anniversary, I realize everything now is politicalized and half the country hates the other half, but I was hoping the country would come together for this

Maybe don’t vote for people who hollow out small town America by cozying up to China and import millions of 3rd worlders that hate this place

We weren't afraid of getting shot by undesirables at the celebrations back then. I havent been to downtown fireworks in Baton Rouge in years.
