Some people just come from dads who parent like drill instructors. My dad beat the ever living shite out of me all the time from when I was 10 all the way to 18. It made me realize that in this world, you have to stand up for yourself when no one else can. I was a pissed off kid all throughout high school and I had a bad temper because of the way my dad abused me.
I grew up fighting and watching others fight my dad. It was a constant thing for many years.
Yes it taught me to stand up for myself but that lesson can also very much be taught in other ways.
Fighting your kids is fricking bullshite. It should not happen.

People need to man up and accept that.
What if exposure to violence and depravity is a cause of those actions?
People who live in shitholes are violent because they grow up around violence. I don’t think empathetic people who value life and character need to see anything.

I’m sorry that happened to you, brother.
My dad was awful. Mean is only a word.

Man if only he would have read a book on how not to shoot a family member in a verbal argument.

That kind of stuff needs to be shown to people. It forces people to realize that the world isn’t this bubbly, happy flowery place where there’s no violence. It’s a mean and nasty place where bad things will always happen due to humans having a propensity to violence. People need to man up and accept that.
What on earth…
Everyone knows creamy, rancid dog poop exists. You don’t have to get in the grass and wallow in it to realize that.
There is not a single thing gained from exposing oneself to the absolute worst aspects of humanity. This post sounds psychotic.

I’ll take an arse whopping from my son before I would ever think about harming him. I could never kill him, unless he was about to kill his mother or siblings. Why was a guy even in the equation?!

Thanks. I’ve learned over time it’s best to just forgive your dad and move on instead of being pissed at him for not treating you better. On a positive note, I haven’t spoken to my dad in almost 5 years and I’m doing a lot better without him in the picture.

Cut him out of our lives for 7 years. Was a great decision.
Called him one Fathers Day and connected over lunch. He called me 2 weeks later and was terrible on the phone. Hung up on him.
He passed away 4 weeks later.

This was hard to see. There is good and bad in the world - always has been. Scroll down a little way after this awful video and look at the video of the dog being reunited with her owner after 2 years if you want to see some good.

Dad should be pleading guilty and accepting whatever lengthy sentence he gets. I couldn’t even imagine such a situation. What a piece of shite.

JFC that is heartbreaking as a father of an almost 20 year son I could never imagine being so upset that I’d shoot and kill him although sometimes I want to beat the crap outta him, but then I remind myself he’s 19 and I was probably more deserving of an arse whooping that age than he is.

It’s not psychotic. It’s called staying in touch with reality. These videos show the world for what it really is, and if more people saw them, it will make them more grateful for the things that they have and appreciate the fact that they don’t live in a third world shithole.

I was always taught you don't pull a gun unless you intend to kill someone
That is a poor lesson. If someone is approaching you with intent to harm you, and you pull a gun causing him to stop, are you going to shoot him anyway?

The son had mental health issues. Sounds like Dad finally snapped. Tragic.
i don't know the full details of what happened, but if the kid really had mental issues, can't the father claim self defense (assuming the fight is not captured on film)? he could say the kid was reaching for a gun and he's not mentally well...it was my life or his life.
