Sounds like it. And if there is an alarm system, then it sounds like the realty company fricked up pretty big here.

Most insurance companies require an alarm system in homes like that.

Living year round in an $8 mil house in Watercolor? Where you moving to from there?
I think the husband flew back and forth to Texas in his private jet. Wife and kids lived year round in the house. They may have moved down during covid since Walton County schools were open and no masks required. Now they may be going back to Texas.
The Sheriff said that many of the perpetrators have been identified already. They are mostly locals who go to High Schools in Okaloosa or Walton Countries. Many are football players. The family is pressing charges.
The ones who planned this or stole stuff need to go to prison, but they will probably just get a slap on the wrist.

If I had an 8,000,000 home filled with expensive stuff, the alarm better be set. You really think there's that much traffic for an 8 million dollar property?
I looked at a 2.5m property in Alys beach this weekend, there was another coming in as I was going out. Lots of activity there now

That is quite the house. I assume they don't rent it out with that kinda stuff inside. I cant imagine breaking in and then posting pictures of myself inside.

I know an architect who specializes in 5-20 million dollar houses in Destin and 30A. He currently has 30 projects. These people fly in and out on private jets. Rich people did really well during covid.

If you sit on the beach in Destin and watch the air traffic coming out of the Destin Airport (the one on the island, not VPS) you see some nice private jets several times a day.

Based on the size, probably replicas.

some of the older ones weren't quite as gaudy, plus losers rings, conference champ rings, etc., I have a friend that managed the gift shop at the old Texas Stadium during a SB winning season and they gave him a Super Bowl ring, the thing's so big he needs a sling when he puts it on

A friend of mine had purchased a new house in a nice neighborhood and was spending the first night in it alone before his family arrived. He went out for some ice cream and came back an hour later to find a full on raging HS kid party going on at his house. Alcohol and pot everywhere. Teens in the bedrooms. Kids on the lawn. He actually went back outside to make sure he'd come into the correct house. Some friend of the former owner's son still had a key, and thought the house was unoccupied and available for a party.

hat $8,000,000 property doesn't have any kind of security system? At that point, this is the owners fault.
Possibly the stupidest comment in the history of the OT.

I have my house in Rosemary Beach wired with Phosgene gas. So there won’t be any parties.

I mean, what do you think the real consequences here will be? What were "kids" doing when you were a kid instead?
Seems like pretty typical stupid "kid" shite that could have happened in any era to me, but what do I know?

The point I was making is that the owner made some really dumb decision here that led to this. I should have known that the point would have been missed by most. Not saying you, just in general.
You do realize it can be a bad decision BECAUSE people are so willing to break the law? Both can be true but the kids are still 100% at fault.
