Florida Op. Fall Haul II - 160 arrest in prostitution sting (cops, Disney emp, teachers)

WFLA link to story
Florida going for some kind of record here? A week-long operation netted 86 prostituts including a pregnant woman, and 65 Johns including a deputy police chief from Georgia, a state corrections officer, 3 school teachers, 2 Disney employees, and a couple that showed up with their two-year old in the car.
Sheriff gives stern warning to Johns that future operations are in the works. I’m not entirely sure that is the best use of resources, but whatever.

These stings are fing stupid. If it doesn't involve kids or women who are being coerced consenting adults should be able to pay other consenting adults for sex. Total waste of effort and resources.

No kids, right?
Then it's a total waste of Law Enforcement resources.

Human trafficking isn't a concern? Because everywhere prostitution is rampant so is human trafficking, even in areas where it's legal.

All the more reason to make it legal and regulated. I think most of us do not care about paying for sex in its purest form

Sheriff Grady Judd has a hard on for busting sex crimes.

“Seeking a prostitute” are all males.
The Florida police are obviously sexists.

Given no real talent was apparently impacted, I’ll allow.

It’s probably true that there are better ways to spend police time and resources in fighting crime, especially is communities where violent crime is spiking.
But it’s shortsighted to say it’s a total waste. Permissive attitudes regarding “simple” prostitution ALWAYS leads to coercive sex crimes as well as destabilization of society. By pursuing prostitutes, pimps, and johns, you create a deterrent to the practice.

Ah yes, the ole “make it legal” argument just like marijuana. Problem is criminals have no plans to play by the rules and start paying taxes on their income. Same way with prostitutes. Criminals will be criminals regardless of the legality of it.
