If he was visibly drunk when boarding this will come back on the gate agent that allowed him on. In years past it used to be pretty hard to deny boarding to passengers since the airlines would not stand behind their employees for denying boarding, but not so the last decade +.
And if he were that drunk the second line of defense, the FAs, failed too but it’s much easier to excuse them as they have a lot more going on during boarding.

Into one. But I feel like one time I’d feel like I had to was if I was on a plane and some motherfricker was threatening to take it down. I’m already nervous as hell on airplanes and am not sure I could handle someone doing that.
