It was something like "this is bad, this is bad, frick". I knew before hitting the ground that this was going to result in something more than a few scratches. As soon as my buddy makes it to me I start apologizing and saying "sorry" repeatedly for ruining our week long hiking trip on the first day. 12 hours and a bloody 3 mile hike later I had my last stitch put in. Next evening had surgery to fix my jaw.

Or was it just a combo of fear and a bunch of curse words?

I got PIT maneuvered by a semi at 70 mph on the chicago expressway and pushed sideways down the 5 lane highway...and what went through my mind was "is this what people think about before they die"...which wasn't really a thought per se. Nothing flashed before my eyes.

ETA: This was also going through my mind

I hope the likes he got on that picture were worth it.

His selfies went to the bottom with him. Teen mobile didn't have a tower nearby

Statistically, the second most common last words before you die are “Jesus Christ”, with “shite” being number one.

No word on where “hold my beer” placed.

Stupid. If you're within 3 feet of the edge and have no tie-off, you're stupid. When you are inches away in freaking flip flops, you are Darwin level stupid.

The Devil's Pool is safe. It's only open when the water level is low and there's a natural rock wall at the edge for protection. Would I be hanging over the edge like the woman in the photo? Hell no but if I ever get there and conditions are right I might go in.

“We haven’t been able to positively identify him because of the location where the body is trapped, but we are certain that it his body,” he said. “Right now we are in communication with other security experts including the army to try and find ways of retrieving the body,” he said, with one option trying to use a military helicopter.

They should consult with Latoya. She's an expert at retrieving dead bodies from hard to reach places.

I fell 20 feet off a cliff a couple of years ago and to this day vividly remember the quick thoughts going through my mind as I fell. 350 feet gave him time to read War and Peac

I bailed off 5 sections of scaffolding that was turning over after being hit by a backhoe and fell 20 feet....it seems like forever to reach the ground. My thought was "I bet I get fired for this.....". I didn't but I did wind up with a limp, a bad knee and 9 months of rehab....

Why would anybody step up to the edge of the falls like that in any shoes? I just don't get this fascination with standing or sitting 3 inches from your death just for a damn picture

That's why we have Photoshop. I'll just make myself closer using Adobe

Did you go into the Devils Pool while there?
I did not. We were there May and the water level was way too high.

My luck, I'd be trampled to death in an unexpected stampede.
