Flip flops. Yeah, those have plenty of traction on wet surfaces.

You can be wearing boots and still slip like a m'fer on some wet rocks. I've about busted my arse a many of times fishing off the rocks next the ocean. Any wet rock is a liability.

And yes this event was tragic but at least it was the dad that fell and not the kids. Thats why you got to use your brain in situations like this.

Why would anybody step up to the edge of the falls like that in any shoes? I just don't get this fascination with standing or sitting 3 inches from your death just for a damn picture

I have no desire to visit any part of the African continent. While I appreciate its beauty, it’s just a place for which I have no desire to visit. I feel the same about India an most of Asia.

Victoria Falls was one of my sketchier bungy jumps. Definitely had a sore neck afterward

Yeah, I was young and naive. Probably wouldn’t make the same decision today

ETA: I just remembered the year after I bungy jumped there, a girl jumped, and the cord snapped, and she fell into the river. She survived the fall and the crocodile-infested waters too!

I fell 20 feet off a cliff a couple of years ago and to this day vividly remember the quick thoughts going through my mind as I fell. 350 feet gave him time to read War and Peace.

Did you see your life flash before your eyes?

Or was it just a combo of fear and a bunch of curse words?

At you for not understanding "survival of the fittest"?

Dude was 40 and wealthy enough to vacation with FAMILY...no direct mention of kids, but I'd bet he had at least one or two.

I'm also seeing reports that the family said he was drunk.
